He's been lurking on a handy mark for a while now and with form figures of 113 over C&D with all the runs coming off much higher marks he's clearly of interest in this lowly grade. Failed to stay here last time out over 1m3f but this mile will suit much better.
Only modest on the AW and looks to be a better horse on turf although he does have his quirks and can race freely. His form here so far does little to inspire, his best was a third over 7f but he does stay this trip although others are preferred.
Was in better form at the end of last year than he is now winning three races on turf/AW over a mile, the last one a handicap off a mark of 62. Not won since then although he did shape well enough over C&D last time (short of room on occasions); chance on old form here.
Visor goes on for the first time (tried in first time blinkers last time) over 7f here but came up short running below form. Down a further 2lb in the weights now but it takes a leap of faith to support him.
A surprise winner over C&D last time when starting a 100/1 shot off a 5lb lower mark leading all the way and winning by 2L. Her previous form gave no hint of such ability and it may well be that she struggles to repeat that form.
Finally shed her maiden tag over C&D last time out in maiden company on her first try on this surface. Now returns to handicaps (beaten off lower marks before) and it's open to debate if she is good enough to follow-up that maiden win.
Makes her debut on this surface have shown that she is effective over this trip and had been steadily working her way back to form on turf of late. Turned in an encouraging effort over hurdles last time and if she takes to this surface has a chance off this lowly mark.
Previous efforts on this surface leave a fair bit to be desired and she ran too free at Newcastle last time after a break. Likely to have come on for that run and did end a long losing run in the summer in better grade than this but doubts remain about her ability on fibresand.
Still to win a race from eight attempts and his recent third over C&D in a similar race probably sums up his ability. Ran poorly last time out at Wolverhampton and even off this low mark makes little appeal here.
Has at least won on this surface but his overall record here of 2/32 hardly inspires and his long losing run continues to build. Looks out of sorts at the moment and nit particularly trustworthy; one to treat with caution even in this grade.
Makes her handicap/fibresand debut having finished last in three quick runs on the AW probably designed to get her a mark. Given a basement mark she's impossible to back with confidence despite the fact handicaps give her more chance.
Forecasts
Satchville Flyer (7/2), St Patrick's Day (4/1), Candesta (5/1), Moving Robe (5/1), Tilly Devine (7/1), Sir Lancelott (10/1), Little Pippin (12/1), Zebelini (25/1), Quick Monet (33/1), Dream Destroyer (66/1), Monzino (100/1)
This is a very poor race and not one to get too involved with and a chance is taken that the move back to a mile will help ST PATRICK'S DAY get back to his best off a much reduced mark. Both Tilly Devine and Moving Robe are last time out winners but their overall form isn’t that solid and there are doubts about either of them being able to follow-up. Little Pippin is of interest over this trip if she acts on the surface while Candesta would have a chance on his best form here especially off this much reduced mark and in a very lowly grade.
- St Patrick's Day
- Candesta
- Little Pippin
