Course specialist and turf winner at Goodwood this summer, but well-beaten on two starts off this mark since and looks vulnerable against some better handicapped rivals.
Has drawn a blank this year and looks up against it off this weight compared to some more in-form rivals who have less to carry.
Course winner who is generally seen to best effect over similar trips to this. On the same mark as a fine effort to finish third at Newcastle last time out and needs considering following that performance.
Didn't run as badly as the bare form figure suggests when tenth at Lingfield last time. Generally seen to best effect at Southwell, however.
Much better than this mark on his very best form, but getting on at this stage and is yet to really hit his stride for this yard after four runs.
All but one of his career victories have come on a Tapeta surface, which is obviously encouraging, and he ran his best race for some time over C&D last time out, now back down below his last winning mark.
0/5 on the AW and both wins on turf have come over further than this; beaten 89L into last of finishers on hurdling debut at Bangor last time and tough to build a case for.
C&D winner who has made a fair start to life for this yard since switching in the summer. Perhaps a little high in the weights but has a handy draw to help.
Winner of a Southwell maiden last time out having run well in second here on her previous start. 1lb higher in the handicap now but seems progressive and has to have a chance.
Fair efforts on Polytrack recently but also acts on Tapeta. On a career-high mark but young enough to suggest that there could be further improvement to come and he can't be discounted.
Winner of a weak Chelmsford maiden last year but two efforts in handicap company since have not been encouraging. Off since January and has too much to prove here.
C&D winner who was only narrowly denied over this trip last time out. On the same mark here and though he hasn't won for a while he has often been at his best in winter in the past; a leading contender.
Back to winning ways at Nottingham last time, but up 4lb for only the narrowest of victories. Only previous run here was encouraging, however.
Forecasts
Purple Rock (7/2), Isstoora (9/2), Beepeecee (11/2), X Rated (6/1), Barnaby Brook (7/1), Luv U Whatever (8/1), Quoteline Direct (10/1), Archipeligo (14/1), Berlusca (25/1), Mr Red Clubs (40/1), Jersey Jewel (100/1), Venutius (150/1), Sadhbh (150/1)
After some recent good form on the AW, including at this course, Isstoora needs considering for Archie Watson, but preference is for BERLUSCA. Though he hasn't won for a while he ran very well over C&D off this handicap mark last time out, and must surely have another win in him off his current rating soon. A six time C&D winner, this could be the perfect opportunity for him to return to winning ways. Beepeecee should have some further improvement in him yet and completes the tricast.
- Berlusca
