Good effort at Wolverhampton last time when not beaten far in fifth. That wasn't the first time she had out-run her odds and no surprise to see her do so again here now dropped 2lb.
Much better effort stepped up to 7f last time compared to a less encouraging performance on handicap debut. Could come on again for this additional step up in trip and is one for the shortlist.
Out-ran his 40/1 price to finish third here last time over a furlong shorter. Looks the type to improve for a step up in trip and should find this opening mark manageable on handicap debut.
Only beat one horse home on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last time. Up in trip from 6f and down 4lb, and should be acquit herself better here.
Well-beaten in four starts in novice events, including here most recently in what was probably the least convincing of her four efforts. Tough to be enthused about her chances at what can be a fairly specialist track.
Progressed with each start in novice company but never a factor on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last time. Up in trip with cheekpieces on but others preferred.
13-race maiden but has placed on the AW at Newcastle the last twice; seemed to appreciate this trip last time and could improve again for the additional stamina test this course provides.
Ran a fine race to finish second at Newcastle last time out, up 2lb here and has been running enough good races (both on AW and turf) to suggest he should be capable of going close if he handles the Fibresand.
Has improved since stepping from 6f, but has been behind a few of these on her last two starts and needs to reverse that form now with a first-time visor applied.
Well-beaten on handicap debut at Newcastle last time. Up in trip here and down 3lb, but that's unlikely to make the difference based on what she has shown so far.
Never figured in three starts in novice company (all on turf), but should be capable of a better showing off this very low opening mark. Wide draw a mild concern, though.
Step up in trip to 7f last time seemed to make little difference at Newcastle last time; career-best needed for her to even hit the frame here.
Finished fourth (in only a five runner race) in a claimer here last time out. Tough to see her playing a part in the closing stages on the form she has shown so far.
Ninth at Wolverhampton last time was his best performance by some margin. Not encouraging to see him dropped in trip, however, and difficult to imagine him playing a big part.
Forecasts
Dorian Gray (4/1), Medici Oro (9/2), Mr Carbonator (5/1), Rock On Bertie (6/1), Blue Havana (13/2), Mops Tango (10/1), Fabella Bere (12/1), Dragon Tattoo (16/1), Thundercloud (20/1), Tea Rattle (20/1), La Cabana (20/1), Navarra Princess (25/1), Salire (33/1), Afterthisone (50/1)
This is a race which might not take too much winning such is the quality of most of the contenders, but ROCK ON BERTIE could be an exception. Nigel Tinkler's juvenile has run well at Newcastle the last twice, including when beaten just a head into third last time out, and if transferring that form to the Fibresand up 2lb he has to have an excellent chance here. Dorian Gray, a recent third at this course, and Mr Carbonator, who like the selection has also placed at Newcastle recently, are others with claims.
- Rock On Bertie
- Dorian Gray
- Mr Carbonator
