Makes his Fibresand debut having shown very little of late and needs to show more to be of interest in this. Winner at Lingfield earlier in the year off a 2lb higher mark but easily passed over here.
Has won here (1/13) but generally better at Wolverhampton and Beverley although did finish second here on his penultimate start. Ran poorly last time out and with his yard rather quiet he is best watched for now.
Had shown a little form on her first two runs for this yard (formerly with Paul Cole) and looked to need the run after a break last time at Lingfield (slow away). Dropped another 2lb now and chance if she acts on this surface (sire has a 13% strike-rate here).
Won his first two starts here over a mile but has struggled over further trips on the Flat and this may be too much of a test for him. Has shown little of late and despite the attractive mark the trip is a big question mark.
Still a maiden but looks one of the more interesting protagonists in this having run some respectable races in Ireland in better grade than this. This will be the lowest mark that she has run off and if she handles this surface she is of interest; note any market moves.
Has run here twice before in maidens at trips up to a mile and shaped respectably but has still to win a race. Cheekpieces now go on for the first time and may have benefitted from a recent run and of interest here off a career-low mark.
Makes her Fibresand debut from a stable that do well with their runners here although this one has proved very hard to settle of late. Cheekpieces now added to the always present hood in an effort to help in that area but chances are she will pull her chance away.
Tried in cheekpieces for the first time on her latest start (retained here) and they may have helped her better recent efforts. Makes her debut on this surface off a rapidly falling mark but will need the headgear to work again.
Has had plenty of chances around here but has yet to win in nine starts here despite plugging on into a place on a few occasions. Should be able to take a hand though at this modest level and shaped better than final position last time out; now blinkered.
Despite not winning here she has shown some form in low-grade handicaps when with her former yard (did look a lazy sort though). All those runs came over much shorter trips though but she's not totally written off over this longer trip.
Losing run now stretches back to August 2014 when he was successful off a mark of 74. It's been a fall down the handicap since then and he's only modest now and hardly the safest vehicle to trust despite the lowly mark; makes limited appeal.
Lightly-raced but there is little solid form to take a look at and he's looked a temperamental sort when he has got involved (failed to go through with effort on penultimate start). Well below form last time and now significantly up in trip.
Looked a really awkward and temperamental ride here last time out (virtually refused to race) and best left alone even in this modest contest.
0/22 overall on the Flat and that record probably sums him up although he has on occasions flirted with getting involved. Now makes his Fibresand debut and may be able to snatch a place if a few underperform.
Forecasts
Lean On Pete (13/2), Star Ascending (7/1), Dream Serenade (7/1), Siempre Amigos (7/1), Tuolumne Meadows (8/1), Etaad (10/1), St Patrick's Day (10/1), Saga Sprint (10/1), Highwayman (10/1), Never Say (12/1), Just Fred (16/1), Port Lairge (16/1), Flying Power (20/1), Arquus (20/1)
A low-key end to the card and the lack of solid options mean that this contest should be treated with caution. St Patrick’s Day is on an attractive mark now if lasting out this longer trip while Star Ascending could run a fair race given he shaped well enough last time. Highwayman has fallen to an interesting mark in the handicap although the two most interesting runners are TUOLUMNE MEADOWS and the Irish raider Siempre Meadows. Neither have any form on this surface but both look as though they could be a little better than this grade and are worth taking a chance with here.
- Tuolumne Meadows
- Siempre Amigos
- Star Ascending
