By half-brother to Frankel, Westlake, out of a moderate sprinter who won four times. Showed signs of temperament on debut at Newcastle last week before finishing long way last of 11 over 6f, never threatening.
Canford Cliffs colt purchased for 32,000 gns as a yearling 13 months ago, beaten just over 10L on debut at this track last week over extended-mile, down in distance now with improvement needed.

Invincible Spirit colt whose dam is a Listed placed half-sister to Group 2 winner Opinion Poll. Run well both starts, including losing head-bobber over this trip at Doncaster (good to soft) in October, big player if taking to AW.

A 90,000 gns yearling out of Kyllachy, hails from a yard that is well capable of having a two-year-old ready to roll, and merits respect on that basis.
Twice runner-up at Lingfield on AW either side of Brighton turf outing, latest ¾L second over 1m gives fair claims of getting involved in the scrap for honours here.

Lawman colt makes solid enough appeal on paper and represents yard in solid form (3-10 lately), needs a market check for this debut appearance.

A $400,000 purchase for Godolphin, he made a fair start over this trip at Newmarket (good to firm) in early November (2¾L fourth of 14) and should build on that effort, given he's likely to handle the artificial surface.

Exceed and Excel colt wears a tongue tie on debut, makes plenty appeal on breeding and represents yard with 37% strike rate with two-year-olds so far in 2017. Respected.

Son of Acclamation whose dam won in South Africa. Promising start in 7f Yarmouth maiden in September on soft, though not as good next time at Doncaster. Can't be discounted.

Mastercraftsman colt, cost 38,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a Listed placed two-year-old around this trip and a half-sister to a Group 3 winner. Fair effort at Lingfield on debut over this trip 58 days ago and yard's two-year-olds tend to improve.

Fastnet Rock hasn't shown a lot in two starts over this trip at Chepstow (good to soft) and Lingfield (AW) so far, probably best watched for now on that evidence.

Forecasts

Epic Fantasy (15/8), Key Player (5/1), Legal History (12/1), Moqarrab (14/1), Glorious Player (14/1), Taghee (20/1), Native Appeal (33/1), Black Medusa (33/1), Edge Of The World (33/1), Valentino Dancer (66/1), Aonedamproofing (100/1)

Verdict

EPIC FANTASY was just denied last time at Doncaster on turf and arguably wold have landed the prize there had he conserved a bit more energy in the early stages. The Invincible Spirit colt sets the standard here and is entitled to be winning a race like this sooner rather than later. His chief threats may come from the Godolphin duu Native Appeal and Moqarrab. The former hails from a yard with a stunning two-year-old record this year and any market support would be worth heeding while the latter showed plenty ability at Newmarket first time out and should appreciate this surface.
  1. Epic Fantasy
  2. Moqarrab
  3. Native Appeal
