Not out of the first three over hurdles until falling at Sandown last time. Not disgraced as a juvenile last season but a step forward is required here.

4/1
C&D winner who has been disappointing in two starts so far this season. The return to this course may help but he looks just a bit too high in the handicap to show something like his best at the moment.
3

Cyrius Morivieret45
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-10| J: James Banks| T: B Pauling| OR:  130| CD
7/1
Returns to hurdling after a poor record over fences so far, including several non-completions and disappointing efforts the last twice. Can do better off his mark over the smaller obstacles.

Sword Of Fate20

12/1
Made a disappointing handicap debut at Sandown last time having shown some promise in novice events and winning a bumper. Goes off the same mark here and tough to fancy on that basis.

Second behind William Of Orange at Wetherby last time and remains a promising and progressive hurdling prospect. Up 2lb but should improve again and holds strong claims.

Lord Huntingdon43
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-4| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King| OR:  124| D
6/1
Has been found out at this level in the past including the last twice, a 2lb drop in the weights will help but could still be outclassed.

William Of Orangeb,t14
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-1| J: R D Day(3)| T: D McCain Jnr| OR:  121
7/2
Recorded what was only his second win over hurdles at Wetherby last time despite having run with plenty of promise in handicaps through last season. Up 6lb in similar conditions and a replication of that form would see him go close.

Dexcite526
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-13| J: C Gethings(3)| T: T R George| OR:  119| BF| D
7/1
Off since June 2016 but looked promising in maiden/novice hurdles prior to that. Remains unexposed and not ruled out if overcoming the lay-off.

Forecasts

William Of Orange (7/2), Chelsea Flyer (4/1), Irish Roe (5/1), Lord Huntingdon (6/1), Cyrius Moriviere (7/1), Dexcite (7/1), Most Celebrated (8/1), Sword Of Fate (12/1)

Verdict

Though she was behind William Of Orange at Wetherby last time out, this can go to IRISH ROE. Peter Atkinson's mare is one of the less exposed runners in this field and has the potential to improve past her re-opposing rival, whose form is generally inconsistent enough to suggest he may struggle to win two in a row, for all he did it nicely last time. Cyrius Moriviere has struggled to find his feet over fences but has solid form over hurdles and represents a more convincing alternative to the selection.
  1. Irish Roe
  2. Cyrius Moriviere
  3. William Of Orange
