Three wins at the course with one over C&D show that he clearly acts on this unique surface. Should be coming to hand soon after four runs back from a year's absence, the most recent being on Tuesday. Needs a good pace and that seems likely.
Juvenile winner for John Gosden but was absent for a year until going hurdling for the Skeltons. Showed a wayward attitude in that sphere and two runs for this yard suggest he is still one to be wary of.
Without a win since April 2016 and recent runs have shown him to find little under pressure. New mark is attractive if cheekpieces have a positive effect and if taking to the surface.
Last seen in April when runner-up over 1m6f. That form amounted to little and he looked in need of a longer trip than this.
Goes well around here and has landed three races between 1m6f-2m. Well beaten on both previous starts at this distance and her front-running style may set this up nicely for others.
No longer the force he was but positive signs at Kempton last time in a much better race. Has won here eight times and easy to see him playing a major role.
Has been in good form lately on turf and mark seems fair. Jockey booking takes the eye and better handicapped than on previous visit here. Best form has come at 1m2f but has shown he stays this far.
Has won nine races here including a second C&D success in May off a higher mark. Tailed off here two weeks ago and hard to fancy on that evidence.
Forecasts
Sugarloaf Mountain (3/1), Katie Gale (7/2), Restive (4/1), Luv U Whatever (7/1), Coroberee (8/1), Swift Cedar (8/1), Zambeasy (10/1), The Lock Master (16/1)
Katie Gale and Zambeasy should ensure a decent gallop in this. The former is more effective over further than this and the latter needs to show a more determined attitude for the fitting of cheekpieces. Restive is effective from 1m2f-1m4f and has been in good form at Redcar recently. A line through Good Times Ahead gives him something to find with Swift Cedar who should appreciate having a good pace to race off. LUV U WHATEVER has won eight races here and drops three classes having produced his best effort since the spring at Kempton earlier in the month. He is another who needs a truly run race and he looks attractive off this mark.
- Luv U Whatever
- Swift Cedar
- Restive
