Has his quirks but has settled down a bit in recent starts, and it's been a tale of steady improvement on his last two efforts. Ran to form on this surface last time out and in a weak event, looks a big player once more.
Cost £33,000 at Ascot Breeze Ups this April, but didn't really show enough on debut at Windsor to think he's up to winning this. withdrawn last time due to being unruly in the stalls, so this first time hood needs to have a major effect.
Price decreased at the Breeze Ups this April, bred to have a bit of speed but not great stars in the family, and the tongue tie on for debut raises some concerns too.
Cost 160,000 guineas at Tatts (Book 1) in October last year, half-brother to some useful AW performers and nice mix of speed and stamina in pedigree. Slight worry that the hood is on for debut but looks one of the nicer types on paper.
Cheap purchase at the sales in February, dam was a 5f Fibresand winner so this test likely to suit, but would only be of real interest if strong in the market.
Cost 120,000 guineas from Tatts (Book 2) and withdrawn from sales earlier in the month, half brother to useful Meloria. Mix of some speed and stamina in the pedigree and surface should suit, likely to improve from debut and not ruled out.
Has achieved a very low rating on both of her starts, having gone off big prices, and makes next to no appeal as the likely winner.
Yard are 5-47 here with their two year olds, so do get the odd winner, cost 30,000 guineas at Tatts (Book 3) last October, dam a half-sister to the useful Jack Hobbs and as such, she may be one that needs a bit of time.
Hasn't beaten a horse home in two starts and makes little appeal here.
Forecasts
City Gent (10/11), Monadee (9/2), Global Pass (6/1), Ellen Gates (10/1), Darkest Light (10/1), Count Otto (16/1), Jampower (16/1), Ede's A Winner (50/1), Powerful Rose (50/1)
CITY GENT looks the one to beat here. This return to six furlongs looks a good move after just getting slightly outpaced over five last time, and he can get on the scoresheet at the fifth time of asking. Monadee is one that's likely to improve from his Doncaster debut and is taken to follow him home, with Global Pass rounding out the places.
- City Gent
- Monadee
- Global Pass
