£42,000 purchase last year, some speed in the pedigree and related to winners on the sand surfaces. Tongue tied for debut here, yard a little quiet but worth a market check all the same.
Half-brother to useful sprinter Gracious John, and showed enough on debut (despite signs of greenness) that he ought to be up to winning races. Gelded since, and chances if progressing from that.
$95,000 purchase at Keeneland sales last year, and pedigree suggests this surface will be ideal (related to American dirt winners). However, yard are 0-26 here with their two year olds, which is offputting.
Cost 65,000 guineas as a yearling, and is related to plenty of winners. Mixed messages to be taken from pedigree as to what best trip may be, and this could be sharp enough , but yard going well and get winners in the sphere. Respected.
Very cheap purchase as a yearling and only pedigree makes only very minor promise. Yard rarely get two year old winners and others make far more appeal.
£30,000 purchase from Goffs sales earlier in the year, tongue tied on debut and likely to need more time. Yard just 5-62 with their juveniles here in the last five season, and others more likely tonight.
Price rose considerably at the sales from a foal to yearling, half-brother to useful French AW winner Ross and yard, who do well here (16% strike rate last five years) are likely to have him well forward for his debut.
Is a half-sister to AW winner Solveig's Song but showed next to nothing on debut and can't be entertained as the winner here.
Has shown very little in either of her two starts to suggest she'll be troubling the principals here.
Cheap purchase as a yearling, some promise to be taken from the sprinting pedigree and yard do get the odd two year old winner but unless there's strong support in the market, others look more likely.
Forecasts
Lashabeeh (2/1), Sir Commander (9/4), Desert Doctor (3/1), Dollar Value (10/1), Cloud Eight (12/1), Sea Ess Seas (16/1), Little Aub (20/1), Sweet And Dandy (33/1), Pas De Blanc (100/1), Black Lace (150/1)
This doesn't look the strongest race for the grade, with the standard probably being set by Desert Doctor, third at Haydock on debut and has a decent sprinting pedigree, but the newcomers Lashabeeh and SIR COMMANDER both make plenty of appeal on breeding and one of them might be good enough to take this at the first time of asking. Preference is just for the latter, who may just have that bit more speed and the yard can have them ready at the first time of asking.
- Sir Commander
- Lashabeeh
- Desert Doctor
