Went for €165,000 as a yearling and has a pedigree which suggest an AW surface will be absolutely fine. Very interesting contender and noteworthy if the subject of strong support in the betting.
Related to St Leger winner Lucarno among others and appeals as a long term prospect whatever happens this time. Showed ability on debut and can be expected to build on that experience. One to monitor closely.
Debut run was encouraging but took a further step forward wen second over C&D in a novice stakes last month. Likely candidate to forces the pace and will hard to master if allowed an easy time up front.
€360,000 yearling but flopped badly when last of eleven on debut at Goodwood in September. No obvious excuse for that run, so probably best watched just for the time being.
Cost 50,000 gns as a yearling, the colt is a well-related individual that ought to be well suited by this trip. Surface an unknown factor but still worth a betting check in an open contest such as this.
Obviously learned a bit from his Newmarket debut as he posted a solid performance at Epsom when last seen out. Winner of that race now rated 97, so the form looks solid. One for the shortlist here.
Slowly away on debut and lost all chance as a result. Did finish to good effect but needs to be a lot sharper this time and possible he needs a bit more experience. In the right hands to learn as he goes along and looks more a long term prospect.
Last on debut at Goodwood in mid-October but much better when switched to this surface shortly afterwards. Likely to be kept busy by his illustrious trainer, so not the end of the world if he still needs the experience. Worth a betting check.
Breeding very appealing and sets a bit of a conundrum in adding to his yard's chance of striking with a well-bred individual. The betting can guide as to which Gosden horse carried the bigger weight of expectation this time around.
Derby entry who cost 65,000 ngns as a yearling, the Camelot colt is related to 1m winner Discuss and French Group 3 winner Dance Dress, so appeals on breeding. yard can have one ready, so again a betting check is advisable.
Held in a decent looking novice event at Newmarket last month but may have plenty more to offer. bred for this sort of trip, so has to be of interest if backed by support in the betting ring.
Cost just £3,600 but has winners in her pedigree. yard not noted for first-time out winners, so probably safe to just take notes this time around.
Stepped up from debut run to post a solid performance over C&D late last month. Going the right way but does need to up her game once more.
Forecasts
Craving (2/1), Corelli (4/1), Talas (9/2), Highland Sky (7/1), I'm A Star (7/1), King Tut (14/1), River Of Gold (20/1), Perfect Blue (25/1), Bill Cody (33/1), Time To Perfection (40/1), Houlton (40/1), Silver Character (66/1), Come On Sal (200/1)
A tough one to call but CRAVING looks one of the more likely types after a sound front-running performance last time and could take some pegging back if allowed an uncontested lead. Several of the rest are open to any amount of improvement but I'm A Star,/b. was one that caught the eye on debut and appeals as a viable option this time around., while John Gosden plays a strong hand in sending out a couple of well-bred individuals - Corelli just edging the verdict as the preferred stable runner over River Of Gold, who can only benefit from this experience.
- Craving
- I'm A Star
- Corelli
