Fairly useful on the Flat when with Ralph Beckett although had a Catterick maiden win to show for his efforts over 1m4f. Below par on last Flat start and sold for £14,000 to a yard that have a decent record here.
Showed some ability on the Flat when with Charles Hills although remained a maiden. Struggling to match any of his Flat form over hurdles and he's failed to settle in most of his starts in this sphere so far; improvement needed to make a mark here.
Ran just twice on the Flat when with Andrew Balding being sold 7,500 gns in July. Showed only a modicum of ability on the Flat looking one for the longer term although he is related to the smart hurdler Taglietelle; best watched on debut unless market speaks for him.
Fifth foal who makes his hurdles debut and is a half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/chaser Ornais. Dam was a maiden in France; yard have had plenty of success in this sphere and market should provide some clues as to his chance.
Remained a maiden in France on the Flat (only showed fair form) but offered little when sent hurdling on his debut for this yard at Wetherby in October. Would have to make a big improvement to take a hand in this.
Dam was useful on the Flat in France at up to 1m2f and there are winning jumping relations in the pedigree. Won on his sole Flat start in France on the AW by 2½L and is clearly an interesting debutante for connections who are no strangers to winners in this sphere.
Showed some fair form on the Flat at up to 1m2f for Richard Fahey with the last win coming in a Beverley 0-70 off a mark of 64. Bought for 16,000 gns in October to go hurdling and makes his debut here; trip may just stretch him.
Half-brother to a fairly useful hurdler Cape City Boy and fair hurdler/chaser Light The City, remains a maiden on the Flat after 13 attempts. Well beaten in a Redcar 1m2f seller last time out and bought for just £800 a week ago by new connections.
Poor maiden on the Flat (rated 51 at peak) he's shown very little in two hurdles outings so far and it would be a big surprise to see him better his 4th of 10 last time out at Uttoxeter.
Forecasts
Pageburg (11/8), Erick Le Rouge (7/2), Beach Break (4/1), Snookered (4/1), Born Legend (16/1), Cold Shoulder (20/1), Mangata (50/1), The Batham Boy (66/1), Steel Helmet (100/1)
Alan King always has some useful prospects in this sphere and PAGEBURG could well be the latest having won his sole start and with winning jumping relations in his pedigree. Erick La Rouge also comes from a stable that is no stranger to success in this type of event with Beach Bar another with some decent Flat form making his hurdles debut. Best of the rest should be Snookered who also makes his debut over hurdles although a 1m4f trip on the Flat did look to stretch him so this sharp 2m may well be what he wants over hurdles.
- Pageburg
- Beach Break
- Erick Le Rouge
