Two-time Group 1 winner who showed he retained a large chunk of ability with placed efforts in Group races at the Curragh and Newmarket this autumn over 6f/7f. Concedes a penalty now, making things tougher.

In rude health, having won C&D handicap last month and followed up three days ago over 5f at Nottingham. This is clearly tougher but is thriving right now.

Landed a valuable 6f Ascot handicap in July and has been set some stiff tasks since, ought to find this easier than last month's Group races at Ascot and rates a danger eased in class.

Decent handicapper but surely facing tough exam in this class off the back of a poor effort at Haydock (6f, heavy) in September.

On the upgrade since joining the Stoute team, scoring over 7f at Lingfield in September and producing solid effort in Listed company a week later at Newmarket. Given a break since and merits another crack at this level.

Enjoying a profitable campaign with three wins on the board already, continues to hold form nicely and just edged out by Perfect Pasture over C&D 15 days ago. Entitled to a say at the business end.

Winner of the Haydock Sprint Cup in 2014, and a top notch sprinter in his prime. On the downgrade this season however and hard to make a strong case here.

Another that scaled the heights in top sprints in his prime, now ten-years-old but showing no signs of slowing down and landed 6f Navan handicap 17 days ago off this rating on testing ground.

Good winner here over 7f last month, when perfectly entitled to be so having gone off odds-on favourite. Did that well and drop in trip should be no inconvenience, player once again.

Two wins this season over 5f/6f in what has essentially been an improved campaign. Two of previous three runs, including here in September over slightly shorter trip, have been amongst his poorest of the year and that is a worry.

Winner of his last two starts in handicaps, including valuable York handicap over 6f (good) last month. Will handle soft ground and worthy of another crack in Listed company in current mood.

Still no win since a Goodwood maiden last July but went close in a better race than this (a Newbury Group 3) two starts ago on soft ground. A replication of that form would see her go close but her inconsistency is off-putting.

Progressive filly who looked better than ever when landing a handicap in good style over this trip at Haydock in September. Since posted a very tentative run back at that track and must scale new heights to score at this level.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-12| J: Jamie Gormley| T: I Jardine| OR:  68| D

Prolific handicapper at her level this season, winning four of her seven most recent starts (all wins at this trip). She dips her toe into much deeper water now for the first time and is liable to get cold feet as a result. Others preferred.

Forecasts

Sir Dancealot (7/2), Dream Of Dreams (5/1), Danzeno (5/1), Teruntum Star (7/1), Flying Pursuit (8/1), Sainted (8/1), Perfect Pasture (11/1), Stake Acclaim (14/1), Gordon Lord Byron (20/1), Perfect Angel (22/1), Maarek (25/1), G Force (40/1), Dark Defender (100/1), Yes You (150/1)

Verdict

Sir Dancealot is the obvious starting point on the back of a solid course success last month. He was entitled to score there and will not be overly inconvenienced dropping in trip, with the likelihood of a decent pace in his favour. The thriving Perfect Pasture is going the right way lately but will have to come forward again to land this, he is well matched with Flying Pursuit and both are respected. Danzeno should appreciate this ease in class while Dream Of Dreams has improved since joining Sir Michael Stoute and isn't overlooked readily. TERUNTUM STAR is looking to complete a hat-trick here off the back of a smart success in a valuable handicap over the trip at York. The Dutch Art gelding is worthy of his chance at Listed level and, assuming the ground doesn't deteriorate, could have plenty to offer.
  1. Teruntum Star
  2. Sir Dancealot
  3. Dream Of Dreams
