Completed a double over fences when winning a three-runner race here in May (two finished). Disappointing when pulled up next at Uttoxeter but won off a higher mark over hurdles and will stay this trip so bounce back possible.
Started really well for this yard and won a couple of chases before losing his way. Ran a couple of decent races in July but well beaten last two here and at Exeter after a break so questions to answer.
Over two years since his last success and often a victim of his own consistency. Handicap gradually falling and reappears on a mark where he will be competitive if still the same horse as last season.
Still relatively unexposed over fences, particularly over this sort of trip. Won his final start of last season (third over fences) in a 3m novices handicap at Exeter. Only 4lb higher to start this season so more wins likely.
Won well on reappearance at Uttoxeter despite being 12lb higher than his previous win. Further 9lb hike ramps up the pressure but could be the sort to take a step forward this season.
Won at Plumpton last November but seemed to lose his way afterwards with just one decent effort thereafter. Still 4lb higher than last winning mark and not getting any younger so best watched on reappearance.
3lb out of the handicap here so faces a stiff task despite getting over two stone from several rivals. Won a moderate chase at Towcester earlier this year but average in two subsequent races. Stiff task on return.
Forecasts
Lunar Flow (9/4), Zerachiel (5/2), Saroque (11/2), Bronco Billy (7/1), Billy Two Tongues (17/2), Water Wagtail (11/1), Snowball (25/1)
LUNAR FLOW won well at Uttoxeter last month, leaving previous form behind and he could be improving as a relatively lightly raced chaser. With the fitness edge over most of his rivals who have had summer breaks he can complete the double. Zerachiel is a danger having gotten his act together over fences late last season and there may be more to come this term. Bronco Billy remains of interest off this mark which is lower than his most recent hurdle win.
- Lunar Flow
- Zerachiel
- Bronco Billy
