By Most Improved out of a Pentre Celebre mare, he cost 12,000 gns as a yearling, needs to improve on efforts at Listowel and Navan - both over this trip on heavy going.

Cost €9,000 and is out of a half-sister to French Group 3 winner Summertime Legacy, decent show on debut at Gowran Park (1m, heavy) but less so next time at Navan in same conditions. Tongue strap on now and may improve.

Full-brother to a winning miler and a half-brother to Mademoiselle Penny, gone off big prices in mile maidens at Gowran Park and Navan last month and never any threat. Overlooked for now.

Shamardal colt was unsurprisingly well fended off over 6½f at Leopardstown in May, when the Weld team were under a cloud. This trip much more like it and commands respect today, watch betting.

Camelot colt cost 170,000 gns as a foal, dam an unraced sister to smart 1m2f-2m winner Mahler. Represents the best in the business on debut and must be taken very seriously with Derby-winning jockey in control.
Son of Mastercraftsman ran a pleasing race on second start over 7f at Leopardstown eight days ago, taking third spot without any great labour. Could improve nicely in this field.

Filly by Clodovil out of an Azamour mare, finished tenth of 16 in maiden at Leopardstown (7f, soft) on debut eight days ago. Second runner for the Harrington team in this line-up, may be second string despite champion jockey getting the call.

Fastnet Rock filly cost 60,000 gns as a yearling, sister to useful 7f-1m winner Fastnet Tempest and plenty winners in extended family. One to keep an eye on for this debut run, could be promising.

A filly out of Canford Cliffs, trainer has had a quiet time with just 23 runners over the previous 12 months (no winners) and market may reveal more on this debutante.

Sent off 50/1 for last month's debut over 6f (soft) at this venue and never able to get involved, upped in trip now but remains hard to fancy.

Windsor Knot filly, trainer has had a quiet time with just 23 runners over the previous 12 months (no winners) and market may reveal more on this debutante.

Forecasts

Still Standing (13/8), Sir Erec (9/4), Queen Rabab (7/1), Scorpion Black (10/1), Lone Voice (10/1), House Call (14/1), Flindt (20/1), Rips Dream (25/1), Windsor Diamond (33/1), Sally Browne (33/1), Wichita Line (50/1)

Verdict

Still Standing is the call on form, having made some good late ground at Leopardstown in a decent maiden recently without being harshly taxed for it. He is capable of better and looks the pick of the Jessica Harrington duo in this field. Aidan O'Brien may have been stateside for the Breeders' Cup this weekend but his newcomer SIR EREC cannot be underestimated on debut. He cost a pretty penny and is nicely-bred, he gets the nod for a winning start. Scorpion Black could improve greatly on his debut over this more suitable trip for the Weld/Smullen axis while Queen Rabab is a newcomer worthy of some attention.
  1. Sir Erec
  2. Still Standing
  3. Scorpion Black
