Made a really tempting comeback recently having been off the course for two years showing that he still had all his ability and only fading late on over this trip. It remains to be seen how he comes out of that but he must be noted here.
Most of his recent efforts have been poor and with his temperament also under suspicion it's not hard to pass him by in this.
Positive tactics and a switch to handicaps proved the catalyst for her 7f Wolverhampton win and she's coped well with an increased mark since then. Still looks to be going the right way and a player in this.
Continues to look a rather quirky sort but she was suited by the drop in trip at Salisbury last time off this mark. Would have a chance here if she could follow-up that run although the move back to 7f leaves a doubt.
Both career wins have come on the AW with the last being recorded over C&D over a year ago. Has proved rather in-and-out since then in form terms and often looks rather awkward but is below that last winning mark now.
Slow starts on her last two runs have hampered her chance and that trait is starting to become a worry. Despite that factor she did produce her best performance last time over 6f it just remains to be seen if this 7f suits as well.
Five-time C&D winner as well as winning a further two times at the track he's clearly well suited by this track. Now features well below his last winning mark (6lb) and looked to be coming back in the right direction last time; one to note.
Only won once and 0/12 (four placed efforts) on the AW and his trainer did well to squeeze a win out of his at Brighton in the summer. Hasn't really matched that win in two subsequent starts and mark may prove beyond him.
Off the mark and showed improved form when winning under this rider at Kempton earlier in the year. Looked as though he would go on from that but hasn't done that so far and looks out of sorts at the moment.
Losing run now stretches back some 18 plus months and even off a tumbling mark there doesn't look much spark in recent performances that would have you rushing to support him here. Well beaten last time when awkward leaving the stalls.
Looks ridiculously well handicapped now on his old form off this mark but it looks as though he can't be coaxed back to anything like his previous form. Well beaten on all his recent start and a leap of faith required to support him here.
It took a weak race and first-time cheekpieces to get him to win at Yarmouth over 7f in August. Failed to follow that up next time but did run a little better on his last start although he's proving far from consistent and is 5lb higher than his win.
Yet to win a race having had 15 chances and even a change of stable doesn't really looked to have worked although she may have needed the run on the first occasion. Good apprentice takes the ride but still a risky proposition.
Did manage to win a seller on the AW but the majority of her form since is fairly moribund and ordinary. Looked out of form prior to a recent break and much the same after it and little expected now.
Forecasts
La Isla Bonita (4/1), Exit Europe (11/2), Dream Start (6/1), Al's Memory (6/1), Violet's Lads (8/1), Showtime Blues (8/1), Cee Jay (12/1), Garth Rockett (14/1), Touch Of Color (14/1), Brother In Arms (16/1), Rivers Of Asia (20/1), Noble Deed (20/1), Pulsating (33/1), Secret Missile (33/1)
A low-key end to the card with very few improvers in this although there are a few that look to be coming back to some sort of form. Exit Europe made a very eye-catching return from a long break last time out but the second run back after such a long time off the track is a slight worry, Al’s Memory needs to be respected on the back of his form around here with Dream Start looking capable of running well if she sees out this 7f. LA ISLA BONITA may still have a little improvement left in her and she might get the run of the race here and is given a decent chance of returning to the winner’s enclosure.
- La Isla Bonita
- Al's Memory
- Exit Europe
