last of the finishers in the Cesarewitch but was eased when evidently beaten. This is a much more winnable proposition and he's gone well at this course in the past. Form in all three starts for his current yard has been poor though.
Feasibly well treated just now but does appear to have lost his way a tad. Gone well over C&D in the past, so no forlorn hope if he can dig deep into his memory bank when asked for effort. On a handy mark too.
Four-time winner at this course (one over C&D) and tough to deal with on his day. Just 2lb higher than his last winning mark, so not much to find if he is to add to his impressive track stats.
Lightly raced this year and has snippets of form that give him a chance at his best. Recent course debut was poor, however, and he is yet to convince over a trip which seems to push him to the limit.
Lightly raced since winning her over 1m3f last March. Obviously had training issues but ran well at York last month, so could have a bit more to offer. Certainly worth a check in the betting.
Regressive form this year and very hard to fancy after two lacklustre efforts in September. One a career lowest mark but still makes limited appeal.
Consistent on the AW at Chelmsford but has yet to race at this course and form has taken a dip since her last win (at Wolverhampton in April). Back on a handy mark but needs to prove herself on this new course layout.
Been around a few stables since his last win and a few have tried to get to the bottom of him. The gelding has dropped to a handy mark as none have yet succeed though. Best watch on debut for his sixth trainer since last November.
Dual C&D winner earlier in the year but struggled since upped in class. This looks to be a stiff test from 5lb higher than her last winning mark in a lot better company.
Ran a blinder latest in a first-time hood at Yarmouth and may well have won had he been granted a clear run at a crucial stage. This does look tougher, so needs to prove that wasn't just a one-off. Interesting for a place nonetheless.
Dropping back to a winnable mark after three below par runs. May have needed the outing latest, so feasible he could dig a little deeper now his fitness has been topped up. Career best effort needed though.

Captain Navarre (10/11), Denmead (9/2), King Calypso (6/1), Innoko (7/1), Poyle Thomas (7/1), Tetradrachm (12/1), Shades of Silver (12/1), Ravenous (16/1), Golly Miss Molly (20/1), Calvinist (20/1), Bracken Brae (33/1), Danglydontask (33/1)
DENMEAD is one of a handful that acts well at this course and makes plenty of appeal over a trip which suits ideally. King Calypso and Shades of Silver look to be the pick of the opposition but it would be no surprise to see Innoko crop up to spoil the party if he is capable putting in a similar stint to his latest effort.
- Denmead
- King Calypso
- Shades of Silver
