Narrow winner of Yarmouth maiden on debut last month but seems the sort to be suited by this likely sounder surface, and is well worth a try at this level on his second start.

Not beaten too far in the Two Year Old Trophy at Redcar and this is looks a less competitive event. Has come forward with each run and jockey booking is a positive.

Finished ahead of Never Back Down at Redcar last time, though he has less potential to improve than that re-opposing rival and looks unlikely to be up to this level.

Off the mark at Ascot last time out having run well to finish second on debut at Nottingham. Seems progressive and should be fine on this likely sounder surface than he's encountered so far.

Drop to this class didn't help him resume winning ways latest, and doubts remain about his caliber for Group/Listed level, but he hasn't been disgraced and can't be ruled out from placing again.

Fair record in novice/conditions races but looked out of his depth in Group 3 company at York last time out and will struggle here on that evidence.

A winner at Listed level at York last time, having previously failed to make her mark at Class 1 level. Seems generally progressive and is one of the few here proven at this level.

Not the most consistent, running a long way below her best in her last two outings including one here. Seems best with some give in the ground, so would want plenty of rainfall.

Second in a Listed race at Newbury in August but that looks to have been a weak affair and she has struggled twice since in Group 3 company. Cheekpieces on.

Forecasts

Mutaaqeb (9/2), Staxton (9/2), Speak In Colours (6/1), Rebel Assault (6/1), Never Back Down (6/1), Red Roman (13/2), Ulshaw Bridge (11/1), Sankari Royale (14/1), Neola (18/1), Savannah's Show (100/1)

Verdict

Mutaaqeb is interesting following a first time out novice win at Yarmouth last month, but it may pay to back experience at this level at REBEL ASSAULT fits the bill. This daughter of Excelebration won a similar looking contest to this at York last time out and though she carries 3lb more than the other fillies here as a result she still seems progressive and can double up. Speak In Colours is lightly-raced, unexposed and could also get involved.
  1. Rebel Assault
