Has faced some tough tasks in pursuit of black type and has now gone 18 races since her last win. Would be on an attractive mark if trainer can bring her back to her best and her last three efforts suggest that is proving difficult.

Has popped up at prices of 20/1 and 16/1 in the past 12 months. Effective from 1m2f-1m4f and easy to excuse her last three runs. Handles a soft surface but probably needs to improve further on what we have seen.

Will come on for her latest run but still looks high enough in the weights at present. Handles soft ground but probably vulnerable to one of the less exposed types.

Scored under this rider a month ago when his claim proved decisive in a close finish at the end of a gruelling race at Ffos Las. Out of her depth last time and finds herself in a decent race for this grade.

Impressed on her Kempton debut when heavily supported last Christmas. Those behind have proved to be something of a mixed bag, however the handicapper appears to have taken a lenient view. Interesting if fit and handling conditions.

Running to a consistent level this season without being able to get her head in front. Has her favoured conditions and has run well here previously. Looks sure to be in the thick of the action once more.

Ran the useful Fleur Forsyte to a neck on her debut and duly landed her maiden. Not disgraced on handicap debut before failing to get 1m4f last time and yard appear to be stepping up a gear.

Successful in France this summer but last of nine at Goodwood last month. Faces a tough test here judged on that effort and the hood will really need to unlock something.

Her form behind Torcello in a Salisbury maiden reads very well given how well that one has progressed since and she brings plenty of potential to the party. Should be happier on this more galloping circuit.

Runs to a consistent enough level to make her a threat off this mark, however ground conditions would probably need to dry out in order to see her take advantage.

Step up in trip and application of a hood had a positive effect three weeks ago. Handles the ground and dropping down towards the mark that brought success at Newmarket in May.

Generally runs to a similar level and produced a good performance from out of the weights last time. Drops in trip having run in snatches last time and a more even tempo would certainly help.

Forecasts

Precious Ramotswe (11/8), Lorelina (5/1), Lime And Lemon (11/2), Saumur (11/1), Persistence (12/1), Harmonise (14/1), Lightening Dance (16/1), Lucy The Painter (18/1), Prying Pandora (33/1), Zain Arion (40/1), Kath's Legacy (40/1), Drumochter (50/1), Lady Valdean (100/1)

Verdict

John Gosden has his team in great shape currently and a chance is taken on PRECIOUS RAMOTSWE being ready enough on her seasonal return. She had the useful Titi Makfi behind her when making a successful debut just before Christmas. Although that form line may flatter her, there were enough 70+ rated horses trailing behind her to suggest she may have been let in lightly. Lime And Lemon should give her usual honest showing with conditions to her liking. The lightly raced pair, Persistence and Lightening Dance, can have cases made for them, whilst Harmonise improved enough last time to merit respect in an open looking heat.
  1. Precious Ramotswe
  2. Lime And Lemon
  3. Harmonise
