Won over C&D in August but found a 7lb higher mark insurmountable afterwards. The handicapper looks to have his measure just now.

Won over C&D in May 2015 but form has dipped significantly since then - 8lb lower as a result but still makes limited appeal after a string of modest efforts.

Winner for Jamie Osborne at Wolverhampton as a two-year-old and not too many miles on the clock since then. Not much hint of adding to her tally either though and last couple of starts have been most uninspiring.

Had training issues and, despite winning form over 1m, it's very hard to gauge how much ability she retains having only had one start since October 2015. Best to just watch unless there is a significant plunge for her in the betting.

Successful raid at Wetherby in July and only hit with a 3lb higher mark. Well held three times since and plenty to prove back on this surface; others more convincing.

Hitting form at the right time for this and possible he's not fully exposed having only had seven previous starts. 0-4 on the AW but has made the frame the last twice and not much to find to make it third time lucky.

Arguably improved in two starts for his new yard - the latest of which was a good effort to chase home a well-backed favourite. Interesting his top jockey kept the ride and the partnership has to merit plenty of respect in an ordinary race.

Three starts into her career and yet to taste any form of success. Latest start in a maiden claimer was a modest effort and likely reward will again be elusive for her.

Yet to start a race at odds below 33/1 and not hard to see why on the evidence of his three previous runs. Possible the switch to handicaps will bring some improvement but massive leap of faith required.

Posted a couple of sound efforts since joining his current yard - latest of which was his best performance for some time. Drop back in trip not certain to suit, however, and comes with risks attached even though he's gone close over 1m recently.

Very well handicapped these days but just as easy to say she's lost her way and is on the downgrade. 0-6 on the AW and recent efforts suggest the latter scenario is more likely.

Two good efforts over C&D within the last month suggest he's capable of playing a strong part in the outcome. Jockey got on well with the gelding on his penultimate start and may be able to squeeze a bit extra from the gelding this time.

Lightly raced but not finished in front of too many rivals in any of his six previous starts. Cost just 800 gns but form suggests he's going to struggle to pay his way.

Verdict

This may be a good opportunity for Jock Talk to at least make the frame and extend the run of good efforts for his new (in-form) trainer. The gelding has certainly thrived since joining his current yard but it may not go unnoticed, so there may be a tad more value in siding with MOSTAWFEE for win only purposes. Wayne Lordan went close on the gelding on his penultimate start and, given a slightly more patient ride, the partnership could easily make amends for a near miss over C&D last month. Compatriot may also have a bit more to offer and is feared most from the remainder.

  3. Compatriot
