Losing run dates back to 2014 but there have been positives lately and capable of going close having dropped 2lb for 3L defeat over C&D last time when attempting to come from off the pace.

A six-time course winner, had racked up a hat-trick over this trip here and at Chelmsford before succumbing tamely at that track early this month. Is rated 20lb higher than when that winning run started and career-best effort called for to win.

Second of 13 in maiden over the C&D four weeks ago. Makes handicap debut now and more called for seemingly if hoping for breakthrough success.

Has made the frame six times in nine starts so far, over a variety of trips and differing ground. Argument that he has looked more effective on turf but, with first-time cheekpieces added, cannot be completely ruled out.

Won maiden at Lingfield in February, and several creditable efforts in handicaps since, including ½L second over C&D 12-days ago off this rating. Cheekpieces are added now and credentials are clear.

Just the three runs, winning over 7f on AW at Southwell in March on second start, returned from 209-day break with satisfactory effort at Newcastle when under 2L third of 11 this month and perfectly entitled to build on that.

A winner at Newmarket over 7f (good to firm) in June but has found life tougher from a revised mark since, beaten 10L over 1m on AW at Newcastle last month, has got 3lb back since.

Won over 6f here on debut in June 2015, encountered one or two issues since but scored off a mark of 66 at Chelmsford in May over 7f. Might need this run, watch betting.

Looked useful when winning two out of his first three juvenile starts but has failed to match that form in handicaps this year. Now off his lowest mark yet but not shown much to be thinking he will take advantage of it. Well beaten over C&D latest.

C&D winner in August off mark of 60 and followed up at Wolverhampton carrying a 6lb penalty. Handicapper in control in two runs since, drops in trip again now but has improvement to find.

Losing run out to 11 now and while there has been some signs of revival lately, only previous attempt over the mile was disappointing.

Won a Newmarket maiden as a juvenile, but has not been able to build on that and handicap mark is inching down as a result. Ran well over C&D earlier in the month off this rating be second.

Handicapper has cut him plenty of slack of late but to little avail seemingly. Latest effort over this C&D was encouraging, weaving through traffic form off the pace to finish under 2L fourth of 13. Can get involved if building on that.

Verdict

Cape To Cuba advertised her well-being over C&D four weeks ago in a maiden and bears consideration now switching to handicaps. Medicean Ballet also settled for second over C&D recently and, off the same mark, must go on the shortlist. There are also reasons to like the look of Traveller , who ran well here recently, and Archie in a wide open beat but a chance is given to TIGERWOLF, who took a step in the right direction here 16 days ago when making his way home through traffic to be close up in fourth. He might be the answer now, with Clock Chimes also deemed worthy of consideration.

  2. Traveller
  3. Medicean Ballet
