Has won twice on turf this year and been most consistent, posting another solid effort when beaten less than a length at Windsor recently. Runner-up on only C&D outing, so no reason why he won't go well again.
Winner at this level at Doncaster in July, but not in same form since, often hampered by slow starts. Has been placed on all three starts here, however, so chance to bounce back now.
In excellent form over 6f since the spring, winning at Wolverhampton in April. Outbattled by winner when neck second of 7 to Showmethewayavrilo at Goodwood last time, but holds place claims if handling this track.
Generally races at 7f, and was gaining second win of season when getting up late at Southwell recently. Respected in current form, but drop in trip not certain to suit.
Running consistently in defeat on turf, and did little wrong when when 1½ lengths second of 9 to Captain Dion at Pontefract last time. Opposable having rare outing on all-weather, though.
Boasts a decent strike-rate, and better than ever when winning at Southwell on penultimate outing. Not at best back on turf since, but reliable sort is likely to bounce back, and can't be ruled out.
C&D winner off 85 last year, and ended frustrating spell when running out a ready winner at Thirsk last month. Went close next time, and excuses both starts since (trip too far latest), so one to bear in mind.
Better on turf than AW, but handicapped accordingly, and not disgraced when 2¾ lengths fourth of 9 to Big Tour at Chelmsford last time. Blinkers back on now, and not easily dismissed.
Suited by soft ground, and had conditions in his favour when winning at Hamilton and Pontefract this term. Yet to win on an artificial surface, though, and opposable on that basis.
Maiden winner at Chelmsford, and also took 3-runner handicap at Yarmouth in August. Better form when close second at Kempton last time, and less exposed than most, so looks capable of defying a small rise for that effort.
Best effort this season when length second to Hee Haw at Ripon in August, and probably stretched by the trip at Newbury subsequently. Needs to improve, but still low mileage, and not dismissed out of hand.
Useful as a juvenile for Saeed bin Suroor, but lightly raced since, and well held all starts for current yard, most recently in blinkers at Pontefract (well backed). Gets a change of headgear now, but something to prove.
Debut winner at Southwell last year, but returned from a year off the track in late May and hasn't shown much, merely passing beaten rivals over 5f here last time.
Infrequent winner who was placed in handicaps at Ascot and Goodwood in the summer, but has run poorly on both subsequent outings. Easy enough to oppose on balance.
Forecasts
Summerghand (3/1), Boy In The Bar (4/1), Nezar (7/1), Kenny The Captain (8/1), Sfumato (17/2), Bahamian Dollar (9/1), Florencio (14/1), Tricky Dicky (16/1), Inexes (20/1), Johnny Cavagin (28/1), Tommy G (28/1), Art Obsession (33/1), Start Time (33/1), Sumner Beach (50/1)
Summerghand is an improving 3-y-o who went close to landing a gamble at Kempton last time, and he can defy a small rise from a favourable draw. Bahamian Dollar is thoroughly reliable and makes each-way appeal under top weight, while Kenny The Captain is better than he showed last time, and is lower in the weights than when winning over C&D last year.
- Summerghand
- Bahamian Dollar
- Kenny The Captain
