Progressive form over fences but faces a stiff test from a 5lb higher mark than for his win at Market Rasen in April. Gone well fresh in the past so could still be of interest despite top weight. The market can guide.

Winner of a point-to-point and adapted well over hurdles - won at Bangor last month and subsequently faced a stiff test in a Listed race. Interesting if supported but obviously a bit to prove on debut over regulation fences.

Won over 3m in a point-to-point and also shown plenty of ability over hurdles; won his maiden at Southwell in May and not disgraced in two outings since. Cost £170,000 and has a decent pedigree for the game. Interesting contender.

Progressed well over hurdles but rated 12lb higher than her win in that sphere at Market Rasen in April. Faces no easy task on chasing debut and she needs to be at the very top of her game already.

Yet to win over fences and already starting to look exposed. Drop in trip possibly not ideal either. Rider's claim helps at the weights but others look more progressive at this stage.

Decent handicap hurdler that made a very satisfactory start over fences at Fontwell earlier in the month. Needs to up his game once more but is going the right way and looks one of the more likely winners if taking another step forward.

Off since April but form over fences has been encouraging so far. Likely candidate to make the running but will take another big effort to make all on his first start of the current campaign.

Won at Stratford last month but jumping was a tad erratic before he fell on his attempt to follow up at Uttoxeter shortly afterwards. Interesting that he's being kept busy but still comes here with a bit to prove now.

Slightly fortunate winner over hurdles when last seen (wore blinkers for the first time). Switches to fences on a handy mark and decent claims over a trip that should suit.

Progressive until outclassed in a Grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham in January but this is more realistic and is fairly treated on chase debut; interesting to see how the market reacts.

Promise in three starts over hurdles but more required now tackling fences for the first time. 9L behind Land League at Bangor latest, however, and needs to better that effort to figure at the business end.

Forecasts

Bach De Clermont (5/1), Saint Contest (5/1), Free Stone Hill (13/2), Siruh Du Lac (7/1), Movie Legend (8/1), Land League (8/1), Exitas (10/1), Volt Face (10/1), Go West Young Man (10/1), Bad Boy Du Pouldu (20/1), Royal Debutante (28/1)

Verdict

There may be a good bit more to come from BACH DU CLERMONT, who has a hefty price tag to justify but is going the right way and could possibly excel now switched to fences. He's already a winning point-to-pointer and makes plenty of appeal in this company. Land League and Free Stone Hill are other progressive individuals worth considering if the market vibes are positive, while a case can also be stated in favour of Bad Boy Du Pouldu, who was a fortunate winner over hurdles last time but may well improve for the switch to fences.
  1. Bach De Clermont
  2. Land League
  3. Free Stone Hill
