Both her wins have been over 6f, though and did not convince over this trip last time. Faster ground would be ideal too and she may again be found wanting given those factors.

Well held in all starts in bumpers, maidens and most recently when a 30L last of 14 on her handicap debut over 7f at this track. A 4lb drop does not offer any obvious immediate hope of an upturn in fortunes.

0-12, though two of her best efforts have been over 7f at this venue, including when beaten 2¼L from 1lb higher two starts ago. Tried to make all that day and is interesting now dropped 1lb and also in trip.

Drops to this trip for the first time, having put in his best performances so far over 7f, including when a ¾L runner-up at Kempton (AW) last time out. From the same mark today he is respected, though has it to prove on turf.

Ran well over C&D when a 2L third on fast ground in July. Now 3lb lower and her run at Chelmsford last time should not be taken literally (eased when beaten), so back here she may now have an opportunity.

Sole success was 13 months ago in a 5f Chepstow handicap, when 4lb higher. After being held by the handicapper, she showed better form when back down to that mark or below and she is not ruled out after a further 2lb drop and on good ground.

Goes well here with three course wins to his name, though they have been over 7f/1m, including a selling handicap over the former trip in August. 1lb higher today but over this shorter trip he is not easy to trust to be able to produce his best.

0-4 at this venue, though ran reasonably well over C&D in May. Conditions not a problem, though recent form is and he is not easy to fancy from out of the handicap.

Has made the frame just the once from 18 starts. Largely been racing over 7f/1m this season, with her only try over this short being when last of 18, beaten 28L at Thirsk in May. Interesting jockey booking, but not a huge amount of hope on form.

Has been on good form in Jersey of late, winning twice over 5½f. Stays as far as 7f, though recent form on mainland tracks from similar marks to today's don't offer much confidence in his chance again today.

Yet to make the frame from seven attempts, four of them having been here. Has at least shown that he handles the track, but goes into this out of the handicap again and despite the presence of a 7lb claimer it is not easy to enthuse about him.

0-5 so far but put up her best effort so far over 5½f here last time (soft), when a 1L fourth of 10, having had every chance at the furlong pole. Beat all the other basement-rated runners that day and has a squeak this time.

Well held in all five starts over 5f and now steps up in trip. Has not had the toe to get involved over shorter, so this extra furlong may help, but not enough encouragement so far to get involved as a punting prospect.

Verdict

Very modest stuff here and the suggestion is BELLA'S VENTURE, who showed enough when trying to make all over further last time to suggest that she might see this out to the line in front. Gala Princess could emerge as a leading danger, while Rebel Heart looks likely to be involved at the business end. Of the numerous runners out of the handicap, Coral Caye showed some promise last time and she too could have a say.
  1. Bella's Venture
  2. Gaia Princess
  3. Coral Caye
