Back with Gary Moore after a spell with Willie Mullins. New yard need to turn his fortunes around after a few moderate efforts this summer, but neither this track and trip play to his strengths. Best watched today.
Has done nothing but improve and only put up 2lb for a head defeat in a valuable Leopardstown handicap last time. Effective at this trip, although a little further would suit, and goes on most ground, so no reason to think he won't run his race.
Go back to the spring and he was beaten less than six lengths by Cracksman, but it's rather unravelled since then and he's not been since since finishing well down the field at Royal Ascot. Possible that fresh is the time to catch him, but risky.
Best known for his exploits on the all-weather these days, does have some turf form to his name but a poor win record and isn't really in any great form at present. Others preferred.
Has found it hard going this season, and has been well held on all three starts this year. Step back up to 12f may help, though, and drying ground a plus, and from an attractive looking mark could be considered at a price.
Has a course win to his name, but as many middling efforts here as good ones. Drop back in trip a plus after not getting home over 2m here, likely ground fine, but plenty depends on what side of bed he gets out of.
Improving and showed that a step up to this trip holds no terrors with a win at Ripon last time. May face different ground conditions here and another 5lb rise makes things tougher, but on the up and that counts for plenty here.
Has steadily climbed in trip all year and seemed to get the mile and a half fine at Newmarket last time out, staying on well late to grab second. Has run well at this track in the past, and no saying she's finished for the season yet.
Forecasts
Teofonic (3/1), Tartini (9/2), Machine Learner (9/2), Michael's Mount (5/1), Shabbah (6/1), Jacob Cats (8/1), Plutocracy (14/1), Aussie Reigns (33/1)
You can make a case for plenty of these on bits and pieces of form, but the improving MIICHAEL'S MOUNT might not have finished winning for the season yet and he can take this. There may well be more improvement to come now we know he gets this trip, and he can get the better of Teofonic, who has course form to her name, and Shabbah, the sort to bounce back without warning.
