Beat Kyllachy Dragon by 2¾L on debut at Beverley in August (5f good to firm), but hasn't quite backed that up in stronger races since. Stable also saddles Militia, and uses a 3lb claimer to help remove the winners penalty.
Back from a break under different conditions when taking a 5f Chepstow fillies novice stakes by ½L last month (beat Shaya). No problems anticipated on good to soft ground, but has a penalty to carry.
Improved markedly despite being weakest at the finish when finishing 4½L third to Feebs at Haydock late last month (6f heavy). Further progression is required, but this combination of a shorter trip and less testing ground is ideal.
Caught close home when beaten 1L by Jonboy, Militia fourth, over this trip at Pontefract last month (runner up Black Friday contests the opener). He has proved himself a consistent sort overall and some of his earlier form is solid enough.
Unraced Foxwedge gelding by Coffee Cup (a 7f juvenile selling winner). Cost just 2,000 gns as a foal, and doesn't appear as a likely major player despite this probably being a weak enough contest by York standards.
Finished a close up third to Zap on debut over C&D in May for Simon Crisford, but a beaten favourite twice since then (including at prohibitive odds). Sold for £30,000 in August, and returns to action for his new connections.
Twice a runner up over 5f for previous trainer Mick Channon, but well out of his depth in the Group 2 Flying Childers at Doncaster latest. Has joined a different trainer since, and this looks a much more realistic assignment.
Likes to race prominently and has possibly paid the price for doing too much early on each of his two starts. Ran with credit over C&D on debut when third to May Girl, but just a fraction to find with Harrogate on his latest start at Pontefract.
Finished seventh of nine on debut at Pontefract last month (6f soft) after a tardy start. Needs to put that initial experience to good use and take a step forward in order to figure.
Started at odds of 50/1 on debut, but finished a keeping on third of 11 (hampered) to Revived (Ripon, 5f good). With the exception of the progressive fourth placed horse Rastacap (a winner since), that form perhaps isn't the strongest.
Cost €25,000 as a yearling, but this Arcano filly probably found very testing conditions too much on debut at Haydock last month (6f heavy). She deserves another chance under less extreme conditions, but couldn't be recommended in reality.

The key form line with regards this contest is last month's 5f Pontefract median auction maiden stakes won by Jonboy. In that contest, Harrogate (third) was caught close home and finished 1¾L in front of the fourth placed Militia. Despite carrying identical weights, a reversal of placings is a distinct possibility assuming that Paul Hanagan can harness the Richard Fahey trained runner early in this race. He perhaps has been doing a little too much early doors so far, and a slight change of tactics could produce that all important stronger finishing effort. However, in a generally weak contest by York standards, a chance is taken on GULLANE ONE. He undoubtedly needs to step up on both of his previous efforts, but isn't fully exposed just yet, and the suspicion is that a slight drop in trip coupled with less testing conditions (good to soft) might just prove ideal.
