Society Rock colt cost €12,000 as a yearling. Never a factor when 11½L eighth of 12 on debut over Down Royal over 7f. Hard to fancy giving away weight to all.
By Monsieur Bond out of a Bahamian Bounty mare related to the money-spinning Move In Time, Hoof It and recent winner Billy Bond. Showed pace here over 7f on debut before fading and being beaten 20L.
Ran with promise in both starts to date. Only beaten 1¼L when fourth of seven over 7f at Leopardstown latest. Showed plenty of pace there so 6f should be fine. This will be softest ground she has encountered.
Weakened badly last time out having showed pace. Drop to 6f may be of benefit but well beaten in all five starts to date so more required to be involved.
Pedigree suggests a step up in trip may help but again tried over 6f. Held up in each of last three starts staying on each time. Stiff 6f in testing ground may be suitable and merits respect.
11th of 14 beaten 19½L over C&D here last time. Similarly uninspiring effort on debut at Navan three weeks earlier and huge step up required here.
Big prices in all three starts to date and beaten long way on each occasion. Upped to 1m latest he was beaten 20L. Dropped in trip and class here but still looks up against it.
Started at 66/1 in all three races and beaten 11L plus on each occasion. Drop in trip today but can't be considered until showing some hint of ability.
Roderic O'Connor filly out of Finalstar. Half-sister to 7f/1m AW winner Veil Of Stars. Debut looked a learning experience. Should come forward for it but likely need more time.
Ran a respectable race dropped to claiming company when a 3½ third of 10 last time out. Clearly handled soft there and return to 6f today no issue. Should run a solid race.
Last of seven dropped to claiming company last time out and had a couple of today's rivals well in front. New handler had just one winner in last five years.
Ran in the same Tipperary claimer as Africa Prado last time out Finished 8L behind that rival having been positively ridden. Drop to 6f will help but plenty to do to turn the tables.
Improved effort in a hotly contested £128,000 sales race at the Curragh two starts back when 11th of 29. 7½ fifth over 7½ at Tipperary having reared coming out. Drop in trip may help and one for the shortlist.
Swiss Spirit filly cost connections €15,000 as a foal. Last of eleven beaten 24L on debut and impossible to fancy off that effort.
Forecasts
Brian's Bride (2/1), Moltoir (5/2), Mister Magic (7/1), Africa Prado (7/1), Stormy Tale (10/1), Shecanrally (12/1), Bond Do Tigrao (25/1), Shandon (33/1), Hey Pretty (33/1), Tea Roses (33/1), Wilful Spirit (33/1), Eadbhard (40/1), Moorepark Lad (40/1), Play Your Part (50/1)
In a race which won't take a great deal of winning it may pay to side with MOLTOIR who has stayed on despite tender handling in his last three starts. This stiff 6f on testing ground looks ideal and he is certainly respected for top connections. Brian's Bride has shown ability in two starts to date but we haven't seen her since July. Stormy Tale also has pieces of form that would put her in the mix.
- Moltoir
- Brian's Bride
- Stormy Tale
