Daughter of Zebedee who cost £20,000 at the breeze-up sales in April, but was late to make her debut. Finished a never nearer fifth of ten to Tricksy Spirit at Goodwood (6f good) in August, and looks likely to have taken plenty from that experience.

110,000 gns Kodiac yearling who finished 12th of 16 on debut at Newbury in July (6f good to firm). Given time off since and improvement possible. Her dam (Modern Art) was a half-sister to winners Gymnaste and Gaetano Donizetti.

80,000 gns yearling by Exceed and Excel, but hasn't really figured in either of her two starts to date (both over 6f). A half-sister to various winners, she's probably capable of better, but others should prove stronger tonight.

£36,000 yearling who carries the silks of Coventry Stakes winner Rajasinghe. However, showed little obvious promise on debut when finishing last of ten to Society Power at Lingfield (6f good to soft) last month.

Unraced filly by War Front out of Damson. A ninth foal who is a half-sister to five winners including Requinto, Independence Day and Barbadine. Cost $320,000 as a yearling, and an ideal candidate for racing on this surface.

Has seemingly regressed since a pleasing debut at Newbury in July, beaten 2½L by Mayyasah. However, every chance that a switch to the AW could suit (AW winners in her pedigree), and the cheek-pieces are applied for the first time tonight.

Well named unraced filly by Dutch Art out of The Thrill Is Gone. Second foal who cost 160,000 gns as a yearling, and whose dam was a half-sister to various classy winners including UAE 6f Group 1 scorer Muarrab.

No better than mid-division in a couple of spins so far (7f+), and being a half-sister to 1m2f-1m4f AW winner Bayre, she should improve in time when stepped up in trip, rather than down.

Cost 120,000 gns as a yearling, but this Oasis Dream filly has been slow to make her mark. It's probably wisest to simply draw a line through her latest Thirsk effort (heavily eased), but it remains a case of back to the drawing board for now.

3/1
War Front filly (out of Aruna) who should prove well suited to racing on this track/surface. She showed clear signs of greeness on debut here in May (6f), and wasn't knocked about in finishing tenth of 11 to Di Fede.

Unraced filly by Dutch Art out of Silver Kestrel who cost £42,000 as a yearling. An eighth foal who is a half-sister to 5f-6f Group 3 winner Habaayib and 5f AW winner Golden Flower. Worth noting from a low draw on debut.

3/1
Well supported on debut when 5/2f for a 6f Ascot novice auction stakes last month. However, could only finish sixth of eight to Odyssa. Capable of building on that effort, but in truth didn't appear to be found wanting for experience that afternoon.

Forecasts

Scandaleuse (3/1), Society Lilly (3/1), Mushahadaat (6/1), Silver Swift (7/1), L'Explora (10/1), No More Thrills (12/1), Cwynar (12/1), Chizz De Biz (16/1), Obrigada (20/1), Goodbye Lulu (20/1), Salty Sugar (25/1), Gowing Gowing Gone (33/1)

Verdict

A potentially informative maiden fillies stakes in which it should pay to focus on the debutants, with those horses with experience arguably proving a fraction disappointing thus far. Both No More Thrills and Silver Swift very much catch the eye as horses worthy of close inspection in both the paddock and the market, but a clear preference is for the Roger Charlton trained filly L'EXPLORA. She cost $320,000 as a yearling, and by War Front, this looks the ideal place at which to make her racecourse debut. She is a half-sister to five winners, and with Kieran Shoemark in the saddle, she should go very close to making a winning start.
  1. L'explora
  2. No More Thrills
  3. Silver Swift
