Recorded a fourth success on the AW from just ten starts when beating Sir Gnet by 1¾L at Wolverhampton earlier in the month (1m1f+) and holds fair claims from just a 4lb higher mark.

Back from some low key efforts with victory over the extended mile at Wolverhampton in mid July, and has finished a fair 3L third to Alnasl over an extra furlong there since (from this mark of 65).

Bath winner in May (1m2f soft) from this mark, but not the most consistent since and was pulled up over hurdles at Worcester latest.

Won just once in 24 starts (at odds of 2/5 in a Yarmouth maiden handicap in June 2016). Has raced over longer trips on his last two starts since finishing 2¼L second to Vernatti over 1m2f at Yarmouth in early May.

Dual Lingfield scorer who enjoyed a productive 2016 winning three times on turf (twice at Goodwood). Not so effective this term and finished last of five to Oden at Brighton latest (1m2f), but has fallen in the weights accordingly.

Makes little appeal on his limited racecourse experience shown thus far, including when ninth of 13 on handicap debut at Kempton recently (1m). Up in trip and stamina to prove.

Backed up a fair placed effort at Wolverhampton when bolting up (well backed) over this trip at Newcastle last week. Penalised, but such was the manner of that decisive success that's largely irrelevant if proving equally as effective on Polytrack.

10/1
C&D winner (1 from 17 on the AW) who has finished a runner up on each of his last two starts on turf. Could be involved at the business end from a similar mark now switched back to the AW, but others appeal as likelier winners.

Not won since November 2015 (Nottingham) and whilst largely falling in the weights looks difficult to fancy on his more recent AW form; admittedly mainly at Kempton.

AW maiden (11 starts), but was a winner from a 4lb lower mark on turf at Ffos Las in July (1m2f good to soft). However, has been beaten twice since, including over hurdles and comes with risks attached.

Lightly raced, and was making his handicap debut when no match for Mudallel at Kempton last month (1m standard). However, is related to winners over longer trips and looks the type to progress from a fair mark with more experience under his belt.

Both career successes have come on tricky tracks (Brighton and Bath), and he has shown his versatility in terms of trip (7f to 1m2f). Back to his last winning mark after some lacklustre efforts, but a fraction more to prove on the AW.

Verdict

MY BROTHER MIKE scampered clear to run out a very taking 4½L winner of a similar AW handicap on Tapeta at Newcastle last week, and it would be a brave layer who is keen to take him on under a 6lb penalty. Granted he has to fully prove himself on Polytrack, but he looks potentially much better than a mid 60's rated handicapper, and is evidently a horse to follow in the shorter term after just eight career starts. The most likely danger comes from the similarly unexposed Scoones. He is expected to improve plenty now stepped up in trip, and looks just the type to progress quickly as he gathers more and more experience in handicap company.
