Usually at home around here having won here three times now (once over C&D) but was given plenty to do here last time out. Now steps back up in trip a little and should give a good account but remains 8lb above her last winning mark.

Would have claims if he put his best foot forward but looks a rather awkward sort overall and was below form last time out. Those "off" days are becoming increasingly frequent and he's passed over for win purposes here.

Makes his handicap debut having been lightly raced so far and returned from a break last time having been gelded. Shaped as though he would be better for the run over shorter here last time and may be worth keeping an eye on in the market.

Started off the season running in a better grade than this and is now fully 13lb below her last winning mark and she is probably better than her recent runs suggest. Given a wide draw here with the yard not really firing at the moment.

One of two from this yard his course win came in July in a seller with today's rider doing the steering (looks to need strong handling). Appears to go well from this rider and a drop in grade and a return to this course may suit him.

Drops down below his last winning mark, which was attained with a C&D win in June, and for the most part, he's remained in consistent form since then. Suited by the strong pace last time out and would be a danger here if he got a similarly paced contest.

One of a quartet of C&D winners in this with the feature of all her wins being a positive ride. Has won twice on the AW this year ridden in that fashion although it's a surprise to see the cheekpieces (worn for last two wins) left off today.

Winner of this last year (best effort of the season) he's only won one race in the interim. Despite the fact that he's slipped back well below the mark he won this off last year he's not firing at the moment and others present a better case.

Makes his handicap debut now having had the requisite number of qualifying runs although he finished well-held last time on his stable debut. Not showing any signs of obvious improvement and best watched for now.

Looked the sort who would improve for the switch to handicaps having shown promise in maidens but failed to do so at Redcar over 1m2f. May do better back in trip but will need to travel better for his new stable.

The second runner in the race for this trainer and he looks to be the stable selected judged on jockey bookings. A positive ride and decent ground may well have been the catalysts for his win last time and he has to cope with softer ground now.

Her three course wins have all come over shorter although she deserved her win in July as a reward for consistency. Has underperformed on all three starts since then and her overall record at this trip isn't a convincing one.

May well need to be seen over further before we see her to best advantage and given her absence she may well need this outing. Interesting to see how she fares here with a positive run at this trip auguring well for the future.

A winner of three races this year all at fairly lowly level though but under positive tactics and he steps back to a more suitable trip here. Has won over this course but a wide draw and a higher grade will test him now.

Looks to be a better model on the AW and that accounts for the discrepancy between his two handicap marks. Was in good form earlier in the year (without looking like winning) but has been below form on his last two starts and poorly drawn here.

Forecasts

Mr Cool Cash (7/4), Mustaqbal (7/1), Pioneering (15/2), Infamous Lawman (10/1), Make On Madam (11/1), Chiswick Bey (12/1), Arcane Dancer (12/1), Doctor Cross (16/1), Ravenhoe (16/1), Lil Sophella (16/1), Beadlam (20/1), Miss Bates (22/1), Never A Word (33/1), Metronomic (33/1), Sooqaan (100/1)

Verdict

Not a particularly strong heat with solid credentials fairly thin on the ground and it may well be that this represents a good chance for MR COOL CASH to get back on track after he ran well at Pontefract last time. Chiswick Bey and Doctor Cross give Richard Fahey a fairly strong hand with the latter looking one to keep an eye on in the market. Beadlam has an awkward draw if she wants to make all again and could face some pace pressure now. David O’Meara is another trainer who saddles a duo of runners here with Pioneering and Infamous Lawman representing him although both will need to take a step forward to land this.
  1. Mr Cool Cash
  2. Chiswick Bey
  3. Doctor Cross
