His two wins in mid-summer have pushed his rating above 90 for the first time and that's caused him a few problems of late. This looks slightly easier than the tests he's faced of late but he needs to bounce back from two poor efforts.
Always appears at his best on a sounder surface especially on the AW and may find conditions underfoot a little too testing here. 5lb above his last winning mark and others have more tempting claims.
Earlier placed efforts this year had very much hinted that he was capable of winning a handicap and so it proved when taking a C&D one last time in a lower grade though. Sure to be tested by this 6lb higher mark but not totally out of this.
His losing run continues to mount although the handicapper is starting to relent and he features well below his last winning mark here. That win came over C&D and he won't be disgraced here despite the higher grade.
Was in good/better form earlier in the year with a couple of wins (one over C&D) and has run with credit since then although the higher marks are holding her back. Given a lot to do last time and needs a more positive ride to feature.
Took advantage of a fall in the weights and first-time cheekpieces to return to form over C&D last time. Only given a 3lb rise for that win but does need to prove that the headgear works as well but still looks nicely treated at the weights.
Has now proved himself over this trip winning over it at Musselburgh and then just going down narrowly to Wotabreeze over C&D (winner got first run). Steps up in grade now and has to run from well out of the handicap.
Will find this a stiff task from well out of the handicap and his best form coming over further than he runs over here. Past course winner (over further) but makes little appeal here given absence and recent form.
Forecasts
Je Suis Charlie (11/8), Monaco Rose (4/1), Airton (7/1), Mukhayyam (17/2), Sellingallthetime (17/2), Wotabreeze (10/1), Mr Sundowner (16/1), Midnight Warrior (66/1)
A few of these are flying a little higher than they usually do but this doesn’t look a particularly strong race for the grade and SELLINGALLTHE TIME who never runs a bad race here (231522) is selected to break a long losing spell with the handicapper giving him a break. Wotabreeze is another one who runs well around here and he may well be able to hold off Mr Sundowner again with that one having a stiff task at the weights. Je Suis Charlie merits respect despite the slight doubt about his mark now and Monaco Rose would have a better chance the softer the surface is and with a more positive ride than of late.
- Sellingallthetime
- Wotabreeze
- Mr Sundowner
