Well backed to win on handicap debut at Windsor (1m, good to soft) 15 days ago, up 5lb for that win, could take some stopping again.

Winner over 7f at Newmarket in July, didn't do herself any favours with tardy start last time at Ripon when tackling 1m for the first time. Still must improve to collect off current rating.

Winner of novice event over 7f here last month, not gone as well in handicaps at Newmarket and Chelmsford since but could have more to give and goes up to 1m for the first time with De Sousa back for first time since previous win.

Made a winning handicap debut on heavy ground over an extended 1m at Nottingham last month. Remains of interest despite a 7lb rise in the weights with ground set to be in his favour again.

Run well enough in three starts without threatening to win, goes up in distance for this handicap debut and may improve, stamina likely to be asset.

Third in similar event last time at Goodwood on good ground, appeared to be finding it hard going late and might struggle to get home on softer ground, De Sousa jumps off.

Verdict

Having been gelded, SIMPSON was backed strongly on handicap debut at Windsor last time out and he obliged in pretty decent fashion having travelled strongly through the race. He's up 5lb but there could be plenty more to come from him and he can follow up. Hemingford also made a winning handicap debut at Nottingham last month and heads the dangers ahead of previous Yarmouth winner Midnight Wilde.
