Hasn't shown a lot in two starts so far, both over 6f on better ground than seems likely here, gets Ryan Moore for company now - which can only help. May improve.
Mastercraftsman colt cost 70,000 gns as a yearling, breeding suggests this trip might prove a bit sharp on debut but must be monitored in betting. Yard's two-year-olds not great (7-78) this year
Invincible Spirit colt is closely related to 6f/7f winner Hajeer, has the champion jockey booked for this debut and could be a worthy contender for the prize on offer.
Son of Helmet out of a dam who won over 1m as a juvenile and later over 1m5f, found 7f too sharp at Ascot on debut and again might find things happening too fast in this.
New Approach colt cost 35,000 gns yearling, yard amongst the winners recently and excellent claiming rider up for this debut. May have his say.
Out of an Italian Listed race winner over 1m and appeals as one for the future, sure to benefit from the experience. Wears tongue strap on debut.
Society Rock gelding cost £40,000 as a yearling, is a half-brother to numerous winners, including useful two-year-old 7f winner Princess Sinead and 1m winner Elmfield Giant. Notable newcomer.
Henrythenavigator gelding, sent off big prices and met with heavy defeats on all three starts on AW over 5f/6f. Turf debut, second runner for trainer and up against it on form.
Lonhro colt cost €100,000 as a two-year-old, ran fair race over 7f here on debut, racing prominently before fading late in the piece, entitled to come on for that experience.
Zizum Showcasing colt, cost 29,000 gns as a foal, €38,000 as a yearling and £50,000 as a Breeze-Up purchase, didn't show much in pair of maidens in Ireland before relocating to this yard, should be capable of better.
Equiano filly who cost £7,000 as a two-year-old, well beaten off both starts thus far, latest over 5½f on good to firm at Brighton 16 days ago. Plenty improvement needed.
Tame efforts in 7f runs at Newmarket and Kempton (AW) on her record, has plenty to prove currently and would be a surprise winner here.
Forecasts
Mutaaqeb (3/1), Turquoise Bay (4/1), Mashaheer (9/2), Rule Of Honour (6/1), Scapusc (9/1), Protected Guest (9/1), Society Prince (16/1), Zizum (20/1), Mandarin Princess (33/1), Matchmaking (40/1), Equilibrium (100/1), True North (100/1)
Those that have run do not set an exacting standard, so the betting may provide decent insight in regards to some potentially useful newcomers. SOCIETY PRINCE represents a yard that can have one ready and his pedigree suggests this test will suit, so he gets the nod ahead of Mutaaqeb who also makes plenty appeal on paper and has the champion jockey to assist. Any money behind Mashaheer, with Moore taking over, will be noteworthy while Turquoise Bay should also step forward on the debut effort over 7f here where fading late on.
- Society Prince
- Mutaaqeb
