Sports just a sole short odds 7f Salisbury maiden success on his CV, and has largely disappointed in handicaps this term. That said; slightly better last time at Epsom and surprisingly dropped 4lb, but ground conditions aren't ideal.
No success since winning by 6L on Tapeta at Newcastle in June 2016, and remains a 13 race maiden on turf. Ran very well from a 3lb higher mark at Wetherby in May, but all downhill since and looks risky.
Regular in this area, and twice a winner here (AW and turf). His latest success in May (7f good to soft) came in a Silk Series qualifier, but he disappointed thereafter from higher marks until a stronger effort over further at Epsom on Thursday.
Runner up in a 7f soft ground Newbury maiden in May (beaten ½L by Almoreb), but not able to build upon that since and dropped 4lb for just her third start in a handicap.
Trainer continues in good form after a winner at Chepstow on Thursday, and this gelding was also successful there from a 4lb lower mark last month (7f good to soft). Handles cut and has definite place claims.
Notched a Lingfield four timer (all five career successes here over 7f-7½f on turf) when an emphatic scorer of a good to soft apprentices handicap in August. Beaten over 1m at Windsor subsequently (keen) and now 7lb higher than her last success.
Moderate in maidens for previous trainer Luca Cumani, and last of eight on handicap debut at Leicester in early May (7f). Sold for 11,000 gns and makes his stable debut back from a lengthy break.
Eight race maiden, but has reasonable placed form over this trip in the book. Not entirely conclusive that soft ground is ideal, and her mark is yet to fall quite enough to bring her to the fore.
Has little experience on turf (just the one start on a fast surface), but has broadly appeared of fairly limited ability in three starts in maidens. That said, this isn't a taxing contest and softer ground is worth trying on handicap debut.
Seven race maiden for previous trainer Marco Botti, and showed nothing when switched into handicaps. Beaten many lengths when third of five in a 1m Leicester seller (soft) in July and has since moved onto pastures new.
Won just once in 23 starts, and that came on synthetics in a low grade 7f handicap at this track in March. Fairly moderate on the whole since then with his best recent effort on grass probably coming at Salisbury in May.
Nothing startling about his form in maidens, but arguably still not fully exposed in handicaps. Dropped 1lb since finishing fourth of 12 over this trip at Chepstow last month.
Forecasts
Arctic Flower (10/3), Hedging (7/2), Duke Of North (5/1), Tigerwolf (11/2), Art's Desire (8/1), Higgy's Heartbeat (12/1), Highway One (16/1), Locommotion (20/1), Western Safari (20/1), Spun Gold (25/1), Like No Other (25/1), Scarlet Thrush (50/1)
A low grade divided handicap in which course specialist Arctic Flower must enter the reckoning despite a steady climb in the weights for her recent gains. Hedging is another horse who handles cut and is regularly competitive at this level, and arrives with his trainer Eve Johnson Houghton still clocking up the winners. In truth, nothing in particular makes any major appeal, but forced to deliver a selection, the finger is aimed at DUKE OF NORTH. He has been a shade below par since winning here in May, but returns not too much higher in the weights (2lb), on the back of a better effort over the extended mile at Epsom on Thursday.
