After a good spring she has gone off the boil of late. However, she ran well in this grade at Ayr in June from just 1lb lower, so if she can get back to that sort of form she would have each-way claims. Conditions fine for her.

Came good again last time out when scoring at Nottingham (1m2f, good to soft) from a mark of 88. Up 2lb for that and while she should go well, she is likely to need a career best to follow up.

Recorded back-to-back wins at Hamilton in June/July over slightly shorter and still has to prove she gets as far as this. Handicapper also appears to have her measure for the time being.

Yet to win beyond 1m but has some respectable form over this sort of trip in better company than she meets here. Has now dropped to an attractive mark after a barren season so far and she looks to have her best chance of winning for some time.

Her Brighton win (1m4f, good to firm) last month was a third from four starts this term. However, the handicapper has taken her measure since then and a 1lb drop today my not be quite enough to see her win again just yet. Acts on good to soft.

Scored over a this trip (good to soft) at York in June, though a step up in class and a nudge up in the weights have accounted for her in three subsequent runs. Decent effort from this mark at Beverley last week though looks to have each-way claims.

Has made a tremendous start to her career, winning all three starts so far, including when stepped up to a similar trip at Sandown (soft) last time. Up another 5lb for that, but front pair were clear and she should give another good account.

Forecasts

Time Chaser (1/1), Empress Ali (5/1), Appointed (7/1), Curlew River (17/2), Company Asset (9/1), Lucy The Painter (12/1), Reachforthestars (20/1), Intense Tango (20/1), Sophie P (25/1)

Verdict

Plenty of these look exposed and weighted up to the hilt, but Lucy The Painter has now been given a chance by the handicapper. She has a touch of class and it would not be a major surprise to see her bounce right back to form. However, TIME CHASER is the least exposed runner in the field and is progressing nicely. She may still be capable of a fair bit better and should be followed. Empress Ali should be in the shake-up again, while Reachforthestars is proven in these conditions and at the track, and Appointed and Sophie P are others with an each-way squeak.
