Finished 3+L third to Musical Terms in a 1m Ripon maiden (good) last month, but faces a stiff task here on AW debut giving weight away to younger horses.
Sir Percy gelding who has shown precious little ability in two quickfire runs last month. Looks to be awaiting a handicap mark after this AW debut.
Well related Lonhro colt who steps back up in trip for his third career start having been comfortably dispatched (held up) by Dance Teacher at Thirsk last month (7f).
Nine race maiden who hasn't fully capitalised on some early promise, but has raced consistently to a mark in the mid 70's. Has course experience (February) but might just find a couple too strong.
Had three attempts at breaking the duck (7f and 1m), and whilst his form has a solid enough feel, he's not progressing sharply. Likely to be involved nevertheless with experience on synthetics at Chelmsford.
Irish raider who has shown consistency in eight career starts, twice making the frame and performing to a similar level at Leopardstown in August. Capable of finding a race eventually and this stiff mile represents an ideal test.
Fastnet Rock filly who finished a pleasing fourth of 12 on debut to Inluent at Kempton last month (1m). Certain to benefit from that experience, and the leading AW jockey takes over in the saddle. Player.
Based upon her earlier form is surely stronger than she showed at Pontefract in late July (folded tamely in a 1m2f maiden handicap), and this drop in trip is a positive, but needs to bounce back.
60,000 gns yearling who finished a couple of places behind Isstoora on her third start at Kempton last month, and little reason to expect a reversal of placings with the Marco Botti trained filly open to more improvement.
Forecasts
Naaeebb (7/4), Subhaan (5/2), Portledge (11/2), Isstoora (6/1), Breeze (7/1), Pequeninha (20/1), Luminous (33/1), Global Roar (66/1), Major Minus (125/1)
Not the strongest of maidens, and the winner will only likely need to run to a mark in the high 70's to prevail, which brings the likes of Irish raider Breeze and Portledge into the equation. However, with synthetics experience gained at Chelmsford, the steady but unspectacular SUBHAAN looks just about the form pick with Isstoora a likely improver who can throw down the main challenge.
- Subhaan
- Isstoora
- Portledge
