Back to form with a comfortable 4L win at Bath (1m3½f, good to firm) last time out. Penalised for that here, but may be capable of better and with conditions again to suit, he will take some beating.
0-12 so far but has gone a few times and produced a decent effort from today's mark over 1m1f here last time (good to firm). Yet to be tried over this far and her CV and pedigree both suggest that she has stamina doubts to overcome.
Won over a similar trip at Beverley (good to firm) in May when with Roger Fell. Well beaten from 1lb higher than today next time. Had soft ground as an excuse then, but not at Ripon last time when last of five. Comes into this with a bit to prove.
Began the season well enough at Pontefract and Thirsk, both over 1m, but has been well held over further since. Half-brother to a winner over this trip, but may need a drop in the handicap before he has chance to fully prove his own stamina.
Has enjoyed a good summer over hurdles, winning twice on good ground and goes into this 3lb lower than when last seen on the Flat at Wetherby in May. Should get this trip and not to be underestimated given that he on good terms with himself.
0-9 so far but put up his best performance to date last time out at Beverley (1m4f, good) in a selling handicap. Raised 1lb for that ¾L defeat, he can't be ruled out in a weak affair.
Has strung together some moderate efforts so far this season and appears to lack toe, as was the case when a beaten favourite at Hamilton last time. Faster ground may help, though he has to prove himself on it and not easy to fancy today.
Has not yet come close to making the frame, let alone winning, in six starts at trips from 7f-2m. Out of the handicap here and not easy to enthuse about her chance.
Forecasts
High Wells (2/1), Costa Percy (7/2), Rosemay (9/2), Elite Icon (9/2), Knightsbridge Liam (8/1), American Craftsman (16/1), Mister Moosah (33/1), Chionodoxa (50/1)
A poor contest where Costa Percy has claims now back on the Flat, given his recent good hurdling form, while Knightsbridge Liam is another who looks likely to be involved after a good effort at Beverley last time. However, HIGH WELLS was a comfortable scorer last time out and now that he has that win to his name, he may be able to make a little progress and defy a penalty to follow-up.
- High Wells
- Costa Percy
- Knightsbridge Liam
