Has probably been biting off more than he can chew on last two starts and will find this easier. Like so many from the yard, improved for going into handicaps/step up in trip this year and may yet do better.
Twice a winner over C&D this season and 5lb rise for a 3½l victory last time looks more than fair. Led there. but doesn't need to, so will be happy to take a lead if Mark Hopkins goes on, and with ideal conditions again, has to go close.
Takes a drop in grade here after a few moderate efforts in competitive handicaps, and his record here is pretty good (two wins and two places from six starts), so has some plus points. Infrequent winner these days though, so comes with risks.
Has taken a bit of time to come to himself this season but scored decisively over C&D last time out and had a bit more up his sleeve than the official margin suggests. 5lb rise more than fair and will appreciate a solid gallop to come off. Chance.
Hasn't been seen out for over a year but handicapper has offered him a helping hand, and he's now 3lb lower than his C&D second to the (then) improving Steve Rogers here in April 2016. Can't be ruled out despite the absence.
Twice a winner this calendar year and his York win in May reads very well, but that was over 12f and he's no form over this trip. On that, and in such a competitive little event, others are preferred.
A regular around Kempton and four times a winner here. Stays this trip well but the issue is that most of his better form comes in a lower grade than today's. On that, others make more appeal.

Forecasts
Clowance One (13/8), Velvet Revolution (11/4), Gavlar (9/2), Cartwright (11/2), Future Empire (8/1), Mark Hopkins (12/1), King Calypso (14/1), Zain Arion (20/1), Shades of Silver (33/1)
Plenty of these can be given some chance on bits and pieces of form and sifting through them isn't easy. CLOWANCE ONE might get his own way up front if, as expected Mark Hopkins is a non-runner and that will help his chance. He can continue to progress. Gavlar is back on a surface he likes and down in grade, it wouldn't be the biggest surprise to see him go better here. Velvet Revolution may be best of the rest.
