Signs of ability on debut and probably blew his chance when bolting to post at Lingfield last time out. Worth a check in the market today.
Put in two good efforts so far most recently when runner-up over 7f at Chepstow (good-to-soft) last month. One to note on his first outing over this distance.
Unraced Camelot colt who was an expensive €360,000 purchase as a yearling last autumn. Half-brother to the Group 1-placed At First Sight and worth a check in the market on racecourse debut.
Green when finishing a well beaten seventh of ten over this distance at Newmarket (good-to-soft) when making his debut last month. Worth a check in the market in this.
Ran well when debuting over 1m at Sandown (soft) last month. Likely to have improved for that experience and is one for the shortlist today.
Well beaten fourth when debuting at Chepstow (7f, good-to-soft) last month. Others make more appeal on just his second career outing.
Unraced Champs Elysees colt out of a mare who was a winner over 7f at three. Market support would be interesting for a yard who do well with their two-year-old's.
Two decent efforts so far including when third of nine over 7f on debut at Yarmouth (good) in July. Return to better ground forecast today should suit having finished a close fifth on soft going last time.
Unraced son of Motivator purchased for €30,000 as a yearling in August last year. Half-brother to the useful middle-distance performer Al Wathna and one to note in this contest.
Unraced home-bred son of Champs Elysees and a half-brother to a number of useful performers most notably Group 2 winner Ice Blue. Worth a check in the market on debut.
Unraced daughter of Nathaniel and a half-sister to a couple of useful performers including Cocktail Queen. Market support would be interesting on her racecourse debut.
Forecasts
Showroom (7/2), Mt Augustus (4/1), Knightly Spirit (9/2), Highland Sky (11/2), Ship Of The Fen (8/1), Great Vizier (10/1), Silver Crescent (12/1), Sherzy Boy (25/1), Gift of Hera (25/1), Poucor (33/1), Berkshire Royal (50/1)
MT AUGUSTUS ran well over this trip on debut and with that experience behind him he can register a first victory at the second time of asking in this maiden contest. The selection hails from a stable who's youngsters often improve for the run and he can see off Grand Vizier who ran well over 7f last time out to take this. Of the remainder debutant Showroom represents a leading stable and can claim third in this event.
- Mt Augustus
- Great Vizier
