Has come back from a break with consecutive handicap wins off marks of 50 and 53 the second here over 7f. Needs to eke some more improvement here over slightly further off a higher mark (been placed off this mark) but still much respected.

His third over a mile at Yarmouth remains his only creditable piece of form this year but always looks vulnerable to anything progressive or well handicapped. Last two efforts have been poor and not really a betting proposition here.

Went close last time looking more resolute under pressure than on some previous effort without totally convincing. She's raised 1lb for that effort but it's more a question of attitude and application than weights and measure for her.

Comes from a good yard but really hasn't shown that much as yet on her three qualifying runs for her handicap debut. Only has one effort that looks worthy of basing this mark on but she's one to watch in the market.

One win from 24 starts doesn't really make him bet compelling material and he usually handicaps himself by being slowly away. Looks as though he could be capable off this mark but hard to trust given his application at the start.

Dropped back to 6f last time out on the AW and didn't show himself in the best light with his third over 7f here being his best form of late. He would have a good chance on that run (looks well handicapped) if he can curb his rather free nature.

The handicapper is starting to relent and that would give him a chance in this sort of company with his last win coming off 60 albeit a while ago. He should prove up to being competitive here and showed that he could handle this course last time out.

Didn't really show any improvement starting out his life in handicaps last time out off a lowly mark and unlikely to do much better here from 1lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Chough (2/1), The Special One (5/1), Captain Marmalade (11/2), Limerick Lord (11/2), Good Business (15/2), Lesanti (8/1), Suni Dancer (8/1), Harlequin Rock (16/1), African Quest (22/1), Flaming Fynn (50/1)

Verdict

Fairly lowly fare and although this division looks to hold slightly more interest that the second division of this 0-55 handicap. It probably give The Special One a good chance of completing her hat-trick although she does need to find a little bit of improvement from somewhere and the door could just be ajar for Limerick Lord and LESANTI. The former is given a real chance by the handicapper and may take advantage soon while the latter is also looking well weighted if he puts it all together having shown some promise of late. Good Business is another to throw in the mix who really could be anything from a good yard while Chough would have a leading chance if she actually put it all in.
  1. Lesanti
  2. Limerick Lord
  3. The Special One
