Moderate yet very consistent on the Flat, showing a liking for quick ground, and did the job nicely at the first time of asking over hurdles at Market Rasen. Never easy carrying a penalty in these affairs but clearly has ability and may do better.

Probably unlucky not to be 2-2 over hurdles as he was too keen at Stratford and paid for it late, but no mistake at Newton Abbot when making all last time and is clearly going the right way. May need more here, however, but not ruled out.

Low grade on the Flat and of little account. Can only be watched on hurdles debut today.
Definite signs of ability on the Flat (rated 72) and although pedigree offers mixed messages as to the suitability of hurdles, yard are string here and on that alone, he's worth a look in the market.
Looked clueless at Newton Abbot first time out (only a 4/1 chance) and the overall impression was that he can only improve on that. Tongue tie goes on here, which may hep, and yard can get early season juvenile winners. Of definite interest.

Low grade on the Flat but did win a little contest at Bath in the spring. Jumped poorly on debut at Newton Abbot (often out to her left) and best watched until sorting her hurdling technique out.

Winner in the French Provinces and picked up relatively cheaply at the sales in July, but has a nice pedigree and the sort that could take to the jumping game. Gets all the allowances here and in good hands. Market may guide.

Forecasts

Plato's Kode (11/8), The Raven Master (15/8), Vision De Gloire (8/1), Ortenzia (9/1), Tidal Watch (14/1), Kereman (16/1), Newt (20/1), Master Billie (66/1)

Verdict

An interesting race of it's type for the time of year. A chance is taken on VISION DE GLORIE, quietly fancied on debut but simply too green to do himself justice. He needs to have learnt plenty from that but a big step forward here isn't impossible and he can cause a minor upset. Previous winners Plato's Kode and The Raven Master have experience on their side too, and preference of the pair is for the former, a good winner at Market Rasen. Ortenzia gets a bit of weight and could be the sort to go well.
  1. Vision De Gloire
  2. Plato's Kode
  3. Ortenzia
