Probably found out by the soft ground at Goodwood last time when failing to justify favouritism, but in great form this year prior to that and possibly worth another try back on a sounder surface and on the same mark.

Has put in two recent convincing victories in handicaps over intermediate trips, but they were in lesser contests than this and there's every chance she's not up to a handicap of this level.

Has run well to place in handicaps the last twice but still has a big problem with refusing to settle in her races; could be better if overcoming that problem, and has the form to be competitive here.

Not disgraced last time out when third at York; remains unexposed and could still be better than her current mark given the way she has progressed recently.

Lingfield (all-weather) maiden winner on debut and ran well on the turf course at that track last time to go close in a minor handicap; this requires much more from her.

Forecasts

White Chocolate (13/8), Lady Bergamot (9/4), Glenys The Menace (11/4), Nathania (9/2), Three Duchesses (8/1), Falcon Cliffs (9/1)

Verdict

GLENYS THE MENACE seems to be progressing quickly given how she performed in the Shergar Cup Classic at Ascot last time out, and with this trip apparently her best and a 3lb rise looking potentially lenient, it would be no surprise to see her get her head in front for the fourth time in two month back in the hands of a jockey who knows her well. She faces a capable field, though. including Nathania, who has the potential to be a fair bit better than these kinds of races if learning to settle in her races, and Lady Bergamot, who ran well in defeat at York last time.
  1. Glenys The Menace
  2. Nathania
  3. Lady Bergamot
