Wide-margin winner at Brighton last time out over this trip, but carries a penalty as a result and has to concede weight all round. Apprentice rider takes some of that weight back off, but he was long odds-on last time and has more on his plate now.
Yet to get off the mark but beaten only into narrowly the last twice and surely has a minor novice event of this nature in him in the near future. Already proved he stays this far with his performance at Chelmsford last time; turf debut now.
Finished last of all and was beaten a fair way on debut at Salisbury last time. Needs to show something else here in order to have a say.
Has run three moderate races over 7f up to now, visor on now stepping up in trip but hasn't shown enough for him to deserve consideration here.
Ran a fair race on debut at Leicester last time when missing the break and still managing to get within 3L of the winner. Extra furlong and better ground should help and he can run a big race here.
Sixties Icon gelding who cost £2,500 as a yearling. Trip shouldn't be an issue on debut despite sprint-orientated half-sibling due to stamina influence on his sire's side. Worth a check in the market on debut.
Beaten 14L into last on debut at Lingfield last time having been sent off at 33/1. Never landed a blow and needs a total transformation here.
Should enjoy this return to a sounder surface having run less well on soft ground last time. Should stay this far and has the assistance of this leading jockey in the saddle for the first time.
Forecasts
Macaque (11/8), Ibn Al Emarat (13/8), Lucifugous (9/2), Zappa (12/1), Affluence (16/1), Masters Apprentice (25/1), Rockwell Lloyd (33/1), Free Talkin (40/1)
IBN AL EMARAT can be considered unlucky not to have gotten off the mark up to now, especially in his last two starts when he has been beaten by less than a length. This looks easier and provided he can take the switch to turf in his stride for his first attempt at a race run on grass, he should be capable of winning his first race at the fourth attempt. He's not the only one here to have shown promise in the field, however , with Affluence having run well on debut given he missed the break, while Zappa is a newcomer to note.
- Ibn Al Emarat
- Affluence
- Zappa
