Turf record of 1/41 not inspiring, beaten 5¼L over 7f (yielding to soft) here last week, drops in trip and gets another 3lb relief now. May turn corner soon.
Twice a winner at the track this season, including over this trip in May on good ground, is 14lb higher than that now and needs career-best to land this pot.
Three-time winner on turf (from 28) but has been off colour for a while now and twice switched yards. Tame effort at Galway on debut for this handler, sights are lowered slightly now.
Winner over the trip at Naas on yielding ground back in April, ran well enough last time at Leopardstown over this trip and gets first-time cheekpieces fitted now, enters calculations.
Both wins have come on the AW, is now 0/11 on turf though has run well on the surface. Others appeal more for win purposes here however.
Lightly-raced, Tipperary maiden winner in April (7½f, soft) and comes here on the back of solid effort in Cork handicap when second off this mark. Cheekpieces added now and should be in the finish.
Not the most reliable performer, penultimate effort here (7f, good to firm) was promising but since failed to fire over same trip on soft ground at Cork. Comes with plenty risk.
Upped his game to win a maiden over 6f here last time, will need to do so again to build on that now back in a handicap.
Filly gained her only career success at Fairyhouse in 2015 on debut, nothing to add in ten runs since and probably going to find a few of these too good. Place money not beyond realms of possibility.
C&D winner in June and went close again when 1L second to in-form Ducky Mallon this month. Just 1lb higher in the ratings here and can go well.
Went close in a Group 3 as a juvenile, but unable to continue his progression since and has looked held by the handicapper on all of his recent starts, including here over 5f a fortnight ago. Blinkers tried now.
Form is a statement of solid consistency and confirmed favouritism winning at 3/1 in 30-runner handicap over C&D earlier this month. Has 6lb penalty to defy now.
Filly is really enjoying herself this season, winning three of six starts (twice over this trip). Second of 20 over 5f at this track last week off this rating and impossible to count her out now.
Forecasts
Alans Pride (11/2), Enter The Red (13/2), Rattling Jewel (7/1), St Brelades Bay (8/1), Polly Douglas (8/1), Rapid Applause (8/1), Tobacco Bay (8/1), Fuwairt (10/1), Comhghairdeas (12/1), Golden Pearl (14/1), Swish (14/1), Master Speaker (16/1), Independence Day (33/1)
Alans Pride has been a beacon of consistency lately and scored in a big field here last time, he should give another decent account but might be undone carrying a penalty. Similarly, the filly Polly Douglas is thriving this season and has raced up the rating with three wins already. She went well off her latest mark at this track a week ago over 5f and is not dismissed readily. ENTER THE RED was a C&D winner in June and ran a pleasing race to be second to a rival in form this month, he can give this a decent having gone up the minimum for that showing. Rapid Applause and Tobacco Bay are also worth considering.
- Enter The Red
- Polly Douglas
- Alans Pride
