Ran well when finishing runner-up at Yarmouth (5f, good) on debut and was awarded the race having finished runner-up to an ineligible winner over 6f there subsequently. One for the shortlist here.
Run well on all four starts so far most recently when third on the AW at Newcastle over 7f. Drop in trip shouldn't inconvenience having dead-heated for first over 6f there the time before and one to note here.
Unraced gelded son of Elzaam purchased for £18,000 as a yearling 12 months ago. Half-brother to winner Extra Steps and worth a check in the market on debut.
Well held seventh of eight on debut at Beverley (good-to-firm) over the minimum trip earlier this month. Others make more appeal here.
Best effort in two outings came when finishing 2L third over this trip at Thirsk (good) last time out. Had finished towards the rear on debut and interesting to see if he can repeat that latest effort here.
Signs of ability in two starts so far including when fourth at Thirsk over 6f on good ground early last month. One to note on his return from a break.
Well held on the AW at Newcastle on debut earlier this month. Others look more likely winners of this contest.
Well beaten on both outings so far including upped to 7f at Doncaster (good) last time out. Likely to be of more interest once tackling handicaps.
Promising effort when finishing fifth of 13 on debut over this C&D at the start of the month. Shaped as if in need of further on that occasion and interesting to see how he fares here.
Slowly away prior to finishing sixth in a soft ground Catterick maiden over this trip on debut a month ago. Likely to have improved for the experience but others look more likely winners of this.
Fair debut effort over 6f at Thirsk (good-to-soft) but beat just one rival home in a first time tongue tie (absent today) over the same C&D subsequently.
Shaped as if this step up in trip would suit when finishing sixth over 5f at Beverley (good-to-firm) on his debut recently. Interesting to see if he can improve on that today.
Maiden after five starts but contest Group races on her last three outings including when finishing fourth of 20 at Royal Ascot (good-to-firm) over this trip in June. Likely to prove hard to beat here.
Finished down the field on both starts so far most recently over 5f at Beverley (good-to-firm) earlier this month. Probably best watched at present.
Unraced daughter of Red Jazz cost 4,500gns as a foal and bought back in twice subsequently. Dam was unraced and others make more appeal in this.
Forecasts
Mistress Of Venice (1/1), Fyre Cay (7/2), Fink Hill (8/1), Benadalid (9/1), Arctic Treasure (9/1), Sir Derrick (20/1), Emerald Rocket (22/1), Bayelsa Boy (33/1), By Royal Approval (50/1), Little Red Berry (50/1), Gorse (80/1), Barney Bullet (100/1), Viking Way (100/1), Makofitwhatyouwill (100/1), Stark Reality (100/1)
MISTRESS OF VENICE brings some strong form into this contest having finished close-up in two Group contests already in her five race career. The selection has also placed in a Listed event and can take this contest at the chief expense of Benadalid who drops back in trip here having run well over 7f last time out while Fyre Cay, awarded the race when successful at Yarmouth last time out can claim third today.
- Mistress Of Venice
- Benadalid
- Fyre Cay
