Back down to his last winning mark and down in grade here after running in the Stewards Cup last time off a 3lb higher mark. Does struggle to put two runs together but will appreciate this ease in grade and not written off.
A winner earlier in the season over 6f with give in the ground off a 4lb lower mark he's not really looked in love with the game in his last two runs for this yard. Will need to behave and settle better to take a hand here.
Twice a winner here in the past over 5f on ground with plenty of give in it his latest win came over this trip at Thirsk over 6f. Has been below form on his last two runs but is the type to bounce back and he goes well here.
May have found or shown some better form last time out when she was a surprise winner on soft ground at Newbury showing a good attitude to win narrowly. Has to cope with a 6lb rise now but not totally ruled out despite the rise in grade/trip.
A dual winner last year on turf as a juvenile he's yet to show anything like his best form this year in two handicaps. Not well drawn at Chester on last start over 5f he now returns to his winning trip of 6f but still has questions to answer.
Has been in prolific form this year winning four handicaps at 5-6f on soft/heavy so the ground won't both him. His last win came over C&D off a 2lb lower mark and he still looks in form after his last start over 5f with a return to 6f sure to suit.
Runs from 2lb out of the handicap here and this tricky customer is one to take care with although he can run the odd good race. His recent form doesn't inspire though and he looks a little outclassed here.
Forecasts
Sir Billy Wright (5/2), Under The Covers (3/1), Go Far (3/1), Kinglami (4/1), Satchville Flyer (6/1), Leontes (7/1), Smokey Lane (8/1)
Not the deepest of races and it’s not hard to have doubts about one or two of these and it may well be that the consistent KINGLAMI can add to his C&D win here recently having run well of late and a return to 6f sure to be to his liking. Go Far eases in grade and isn’t written off even with top weight and it won’t be a surprise to see Sir Billy Wright bounce back to form on a course that he goes well on. Under The Covers has more to do this time around but she can’t be ruled out with some possible improvement to come on the back of her surprise last time out win.
- Kinglami
- Under The Covers
- Go Far
