Impressive when winning the Woodcote at Epsom in June, but rather lost his way in three following runs, before bouncing back in a Listed race in France last time. Ground was soft that day so forecast conditions no issue.

Has collected some very attractive form, including when finishing second behind subsequent July Stakes winner Cardsharp at Beverley in June. Put in a career best to win on handicap debut at Ascot two starts ago (6f, good).

Has created a nice impression in two starts, landing C&D event last month on good to soft with minimum of fuss. Handles the forecast ground and a big player.

Winner over 6f at Yarmouth (good) in June and not disgraced in top class events since at Newmarket and Ascot, drop back to this trip should suit and may run well.

Maiden has done all his running so far over 5f, well held on recent handicap bow at Musselburgh and surprise if he lands a touch here.

Twice a winner this season over 5f, ran well over that trip here last month in Class 3 event. Has work to do if hoping to get involved the business end in this.

Has shown some promise in novice events over 6f at Windsor and Newmarket so far, interesting that trainer elects to come here now and worth a market check. Must improve.

Ready winner over 6f at Nottingham on debut in June and ran a fine third since in Newmarket Group 2 event over 7f, both on firm ground. Down in trip and much-respected.

Won first two starts before slightly disappointing last month in Class 2 nursery at Newmarket over 7f. Plenty pace so this drop in trip should suit well.

Winner on debut at Redcar in April but not really been able to build enough on that in four runs since. Latest effort at Chepstow (6f, good to soft) leaves him with much to work on lining up here.

Kodiac colt well beaten in pair of maidens and cut little ice despite being supported at Chester for 5f novice stakes last time. Cheekpieces added now but this looks a tough assignment.

Improved markedly to land 5f nursery at this track (good to firm) last month having gone off a 20/1 poke. First attempt at this trip and in much deeper waters here.

Well beaten in all three appearances so far, including over C&D in July on debut, has stacks to find if he's to figure prominently in this.

Going the right way in four starts this term and off the mark last time in 7f Newmarket nursery in ready style, not discounted on the back of that improved showing and could have more to offer.

Didn't need to improve to land heavy ground Ffos Las contest last week, though did so with an absolute minimum of fuss. One of five for Richard Fahey in this line-up.

Dark Angel filly with one win from six starts, not disgraced in the Queen Mary at Ascot over the minimum trip in June and runner-up in 6f French Group 3 latest. Interesting contender.

Filly has been very consistent in five runs since a tame debut at Catterick in May. Two wins since, including over this trip at Thirsk last month. Entitled to her place in the field, though may need to improve a touch.

Verdict

Richard Fahey accounts for a quarter of the field here and Great Prospector appears to lead his cast on the back of a pleasing effort last time at Newmarket over 7f. The drop in trip should suit and he is respected. Stablemate Ventura Dragon comes into this off an easy Ffos Las win but must improve while the filly Darkanna is not lightly dismissed. There was a lot to like about the C&D success of HEY JONESY on just his second start. Trainer Kevin Ryan has a 21% strike rate recently and with further improvement deemed likely, he holds strong claims now. De Bruyne Horse may fair better back on this surface for last year's winning trainer while Tangled and Alba Power are others worth considering.
