Prone to being temperamental at times, resumed winning way at Stratford last month when sporting this headgear and considered now.

Form in three runs this year has been below par, dropped to a handy mark as a result and blinkers are now tried.

Tends to go well enough in small-field events and has two wins over fences. Lost his way of late, and fell over hurdles at Exeter in April when last spotted.

Winner at Wetherby in April, struggled since and three most recent effort aren't inspiring. Hard to trust.

Winner at Market Rasen last month, since finished in second spot at Cartmel and every chance of having a big say again despite carrying another 3lb.

Age: 9|  Weight: 11-3| J: Conor Shoemark| T: P W Middleton| OR:  111
8/1
Form over hurdles has taken a dip and starting to look well weighted as a result. Yet to win from five previous starts over fences though and risks attached with giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Horse silk
Hedgeinator137
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-11| J: R Johnson| T: Christian Williams| OR:  105| BF
15/8
Won on chase debut in Ireland in February 2016, rather lost his way and only run three times under rules since. First start for this handler and worth noting in the betting.

Forecasts

Hedgeinator (15/8), Honkytonktennessee (5/2), Shady Glen (5/1), Exitas (8/1), No Likey (10/1), Strongly Suggested (10/1), Theatre Mill (33/1)

Verdict

SHADY GLEN scored in good style at Market Rasen last month and has since backed it up with a good show at Cartmel. He's on good terms with himself and can take this prize. Honkytonktennessee isn't a reliable character but got back to winning ways last time and may go well once sporting his new headgear again while No Likey and Hedgeinator are both nicely handicapped if able to produce their best work.
  1. Shady Glen
  2. Honkytonktennessee
  3. Hedgeinator
