Dual-purpose type who was in good form over hurdles over the winter but hasn't been as effective under either code since. Top-weight to defy now seems to be too tall an order.
Always seems to run his race and though he has only won once on turf he should be able to hit the frame if turning up in the same form as his recent races. Headgear taken off.
C&D winner who has consistently been going close in staying handicaps of this nature recently. Only narrowly denied last time (despite finishing sixth), and seems to be practically waiting to win a similar race to this.
Well-beaten dropped in trip at Pontefract last time but should prefer this longer trip given what he has shown in his recent races. Not always the most reliable but not totally discounted if turning up here in his best form.
Makes her open-handicap debut having won a maiden handicap over 2m on her most recent start, Up 6lb put has plenty more to offer over staying trips and requires close consideration against some exposed rivals.
Went close to getting off the mark at Chelmsford last time out but her inability to win a race up to now has to be a concern. Lightly-raced on turf but seems to handle it fine.
Steps up to this trip for the first time but hasn't shown enough over shorter to inspire much enthusiasm for his chances; racing from 5lb out of the handicap is further cause for concern.
Takes a big step up in trip having run well over much shorter at this course the last twice. Stamina to prove but could go close if staying this far, and seems ground-versatile.

Piedita (4/6), Fitzwilly (11/2), Ablaze (6/1), Bamako Du Chatelet (6/1), King Calypso (7/1), Avenue Des Champs (16/1), Topalova (20/1), Ring Eye (25/1), Montycristo (28/1), Linguine (33/1)
Many of these are looking exposed by now, so it may pay to side with the improving PIEDITA. Sir Mark Prescott's three-year-old has progressed with each step up in trip she has taken, and got off the mark in a maiden handicap at Beverley last time out in good style. She's up 6lb but didn't enjoy a clear run that day and has more to offer over these staying trips. Ablaze, another filly, steps up in trip here but should go close if proving she stays, and while it's unusual to see Bamako Du Chatelet without headgear he has also been running well recently.
