Failed to overcome her highest handicap mark to date when being beaten 22L at Fontwell last time despite being sent off 2/1 favourite. Slight drop in trip should help and further progression is possible as she's lightly raced for her age.
Probably on a prohibitive handicap mark the last twice and has only been dropped 2lb since, but the change in headgear makes him an interesting proposition, and he seems to be ground versatile.
Would be good enough to get competitive in this on his best form but isn't being given much help from the handicapper at present, and would prefer plenty of rain prior to the off.
Has improved over hurdles since switching to this sphere from the Flat, and makes his handicap debut here. Seems to be on a fair opening mark and has run well in similar conditions to these in novice events. A big run is expected.
Returned to something like his best with a fine third over C&D last time out. First time cheek pieces are a positive, and though he has a 4lb rise to contend with it would be no surprise to see him hit the frame again.
C&D winner who makes his first racecourse appearance since a poor effort over C&D in March. Won off a similar mark to this here last year, but hasn't shown enough since for him to be considered here.
Started his career as a handicap hurdler well, but not so good since returning from a break, and has plenty to prove now against some in-form rivals.
In fine form last summer but has had just four runs since and hasn't been able to fully replicate that level of form since making his appearance. May not have enough about him for this at present.
Forecasts
Three Star General (2/1), Waltz Darling (6/1), Overtheedge (6/1), Kayla (6/1), Benenden (7/1), Mighty Leader (8/1), Grey Monk (8/1), Yur Next (16/1)
KAYLA is taken to defy top-weight here for Stuart Edmunds and Ciaran Gethings. This mare was slightly disappointing at Fontwell last time but seemed progressive prior to that and should be capable of bouncing back here, especially as the slight drop in trip won't do her chances any harm on ground that she should love. It is a fairly open-looking affair, though, and the consistent Three Star General also has a fantastic chance, in addition to Paddy Brennan's mount Mighty Leader.
