Almost two years separate his outings and the latter one hinted at only limited talent. Qualifies for handicaps after this and that is where his future probably lies.

Needed the experience on debut at Wolverhampton before running much better when second at Salisbury last time. Keen sort, who drops back 1f with a first-time tongue tie. Chance.

Showed little in two starts for Dermot Weld and now has his debut for new trainer, who has a record of excelling with other stable's cast-offs. This race looks to be a sighter before attention is switched to handicaps.

Gelded son of Equiano who cost 47,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-brother to three winners. Well backed when a disappointing third of four on debut at Hamilton, but that run was probably needed and better can be expected for strong stable.

Not much to glean from debut over 7f at Wolverhampton, but showed much more promise last time when 4th of nine at this track to a horse who has since scored in handicap company. Likely to take another step forward.

Cost 80,000 guineas as a yearling and is a half-brother to seven winners. Fourth on both starts at Ripon and Newmarket, shaping much better in the latter. Likely to be thereabouts if showing more improvement.

Exceed and Excel gelding whose dam won as a juvenile and is a half-sister to 5f/6f Group One winner Reverence, 7f 2yo Listed winner Helm Bank and another sprint winner. Showed little on debut at Thirsk and may need more time to develop.

Home-bred gelded son of Choisir. Half-brother to a number of winning sprinters for this stable, most notably Blithe Spirit and Casterbridge. Beaten a long way when green on debut at Leicester and should be wiser for the outing.

Has finished in mid-division in two 7f maidens at Redcar and clearly has some ability. Can go down the handicap route after this and that looks the plan.

Has failed to beat a rival in two 5f maidens at Thirsk and steps up 1f. Needs to show plenty more before he can be considered a betting proposition.

Invincible Spirit filly who cost 80,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to five winners from 6f to 1m4f. Nice pedigree and certainly worth a check in the betting on debut.

Half-sister to a 2yo 5f winner and a 6f winner, both of whom were moderate. Dam won over 7f and is a half-sister to five winners. Went off at 20-1 when touched off by a 50-1 shot on debut at Thirsk and can go well again with improvement likely.

Fastnet Rock filly who is closely related to 6f/7f winner Triple Chocolate and is a half-sister to sprinter Jacob's Pillow. Looks sharp on paper and leading yard will have her well prepared for her debut.

Not much to shout about in two runs for George Scott last season and now tries her hand for a stable which specialises in sprinters. Handicaps are likely to be on the cards for her after this.

Blazed (11/4), One Master (7/2), Katheefa (13/2), Equitation (7/1), Coviglia (15/2), Mohsen (17/2), Nuns Walk (12/1), Lady Of The Lamp (16/1), Betty Grable (33/1), Suraat (33/1), Swing Time (40/1), Redeeming (50/1), High Anxiety (50/1), Pound Note (100/1), Fintry Flyer (200/1)

Verdict

Quite a few of these will qualify for handicap marks after this and that is almost certainly where their futures lie. Indeed, this is a maiden which should not take a great deal of winning and it would be no surprise if the debutant, ONE MASTER, proved good enough. She has plenty of speed in her pedigree and hails from a powerful yard which can ready one first time. Of those to have run, Blazed, Nuns Walk, Equitation, Katheefa and Mohsen make most appeal, while Coviglia should be watched with a view to the future.
